cingular v3r

Hey guys,

I have a cingular red v3r that is giving a lot of problems, i read that it is a v3i termed as v3r. in the back of the phone where there is a the white sticker under the battery, i see s/w: 08.b5.86r which i think means that the phone originally came with the R479_G_08.B5.86R firmware on it. I cannot tell what firmware is on it now because i got the phone dead and it cannot go into bootloader unless i testpoint it. There is no light on keypads nor anywhere else. And yes it is the v3r with the transflash slot and mega pixel camera.

Whenever i try to flash the phone using rsd, i get flash failed, incompatible superfile. No matter the file i use on the phone, it gives me the same error.
I tried using ultime box light and repair the pds, that was done successfully but the phone will only accept the full flash from the r3443u2 MP and the r3443h3 MP. but at the end, it still doesnt come on.

Please i would appreciate the help.

Yes its not a v3r. Its more like a v3i, Have a look in there. About two weeks ago someone had a similar problem as you there. His thread was called something like "red v3r cingular" or so.

yeah, Cingular screwed it all up by calling non iTunes V3i's the V3r. Jerks

I would run a pds repair, then a rfdi image for a r479 phone, then a monsterpack

OK, but ive used ultima box to repair pds and flashed the firmware but no success, ill try to put the rfdi image for a r479 on it before the monsterpack to see.

Now when i try to flash the rfdi image for a r479 on the phone, flash backup says Erasing memory... (Progress of this process is not shown) Error!.

rsd lite says error erasing subscriber unit.

Did you try to leave the battery out for a while, as a soft reset, and than power it on straight into bootloader while connected already to the PC, will say RSD Lite?

Ok, as long as any news about the problem is also stated in this thread. Btw could this be moved to v3i? Would get more help from others there.

why dont you try testpointing THEN flash a bootloader, then the image file?

well when i do pds repair via testpoint and then repair pds, i try to flash
lte2_v3i_bootloader_a30 bootloader to it, it freezes the programme and i have to close it.

whenever i flash the r34434u2 to the phone and it now is a s flash neptune.
