Please help me downgrade my firmware... T_T

Hello, I bought my D&G Razr in Germany.
Well basically, i'm sure my D&G Razr is the E.U. version which is the same, and i kinda surfed around the web for the information i needed, and here is my concern:


when i first got my phone, i bought the pre-paid SIM along with it, so when i downloaded the official motorola software update program, i saw my phone information which was Razr V3i and the carrier was Deutschland, which was Germany (i guess my phone was locked then)

so what i did was, i was successful in unlocking the phone (when the carrier says Motorola, that means my phone is unlocked right?)

but problem occurred when i actually downloaded the new software that official motorola software update program offered, and now my version is R479_G_08_B4_8DR, which i'm sure is the German version of the software.

my biggest problem is this: when i tried to edit the phonebook's group names, i cannot change them, its basically german and i hate it, i want them to change in english but i guess because my software is 8DR, i guess i can't (it comes out such as Allgemein, Buro, and etc, dont even know what the hell that means)
also, for text messages, when i tried to look at the templates thats already made, those are in German also, which is about 10 of them (i want them in English!!!)

additionally, some of the menus that were in the manual were missing in my D&G phone, and basically i want everything that the manual offers...

i surfed on the web and found that the newest global version of the D&G was R479_G_08_B4_85R (well correct me if i'm wrong, because the firmware i want is the global version which is the english in default)

so i want that version installed into my D&G. i dont want any other unofficial flashy stuff in my phone, i just want my phone to be pure stock, yet strictly english standard firmware.

well here are my questions:

1. My carrier says Motorola, so that means my phone is unlocked right?

2. i want my version to be 85R or 34R (or genuine original E.U. firmware, but standard in English), is there anyway i can change my firmware into one of those?

3. if i want to change my firmware, what programs do i need and where can i download them....along with the easy-to-understand instructions? (because i tried my best in finding them but i couldn't find them...)

4. well since my phone is unlocked (if i'm right), i tried to go onto the motorola software update program but it says that my version is the newest so i can't change my version, but if i put my phone back to stock (which was 34R), and now that my carrier is motorola instead of Germany, if i tried to update my firmware from motorola, would it download the global english version firmware (or genuine original E.U. firmware, but standard in English) ?

If all you want is English language on the phone, then just flash your phone with a Language Pack found in the d/l section here.
To change your firmware and flash your phone with any of the files you acquire, you will need some of the software that is available in the D/L section I posted in this reply. There are other flashing/flexing softwares out there, but are not freeware and cannot be posted, so you'll just have to dig deep on the web and find them, they are out there.
Before you do anything though, you might want to spend some time reading around the forum to gain some insight of do's and don'ts before you modify your phone any further.
Most importantly is make sure you BACKUP.

hello i'm sorry but i really do not know how to do any of those...any link with instruction will be helpful thanks....and answers to my questions will be also greatly appreciated...(i made the questions so anyone can read my concerns easier..)

because my language pack is already 0039...which contains english version...so i'm using English OS at the moment but the phone groups and SMS Quick Notes are still German (well quick notes i can edit them, but i want them like genuine english from the start..)

You need to start by reading some of the posts and guides, this is how you will learn to do these things.
Once you have read and have additional questions, we'll all be happy to help you out.

Q & A:
1. Just because your phone says carrier "Motorola" doesn't necessarily mean it is actually unlocked.

2 and 3. I answered in my first post.

4. Unlocked or not, you need to flash it with the versions you want.

If you have LP 0039 and English is already part of it, then I am not sure why you are still getting some menus in German, which is why you just might want to flash it with firmware, preferably one that has LP 0003, or English only (I don't remembr the LP#).

i updated my soft the exact same way u did and with the same version. in the mean time i flashed with another soft, a R4441D. i didn't even noticed the phonebook's group names (Allgemine, etc) until i read u'r post. since i had the same soft like u, the german one, i checked if the phonebook's group names are in german and guess what: they are , even if in the meantime i flashed to another s/w. i guess were stuck with it.

well, i bought my phone in Romania, also with 34R on it. when i updated via motorola under region, Romania wasn't between them, so i selected Germany. don't ask me why LOL. so it updated to 8DR. now i'm on 4441D s/w. i think, but not sure, that the german thing has something to do with the flex. when i upgraded to 8DR it also changed the flex, but when i flashed to 4441D it only changed the s/w. i think if i flash the original flex also i'll get rid of the german thing, but i'm not sure.
