Outer screen is blank

it seems that my outer screen is blank when the flip is closed and also when it is open. it is just a black square, the light still comes on though.
how do i fix it?

Try to use P2K advenced editor (P2KAE) go to phone services Screen settings, then click to read from phone.
Check for external screen option Motorola Logo then read path down in box. Rename custom 96x80 .gif image to cl.gif (or c.gif) then upload it to phone with P2Ktools (follow path)

cl.gif is present and intact. it wouldn't help anyway since the screen is blank even with the flip closed...
is there a way to reset the outerscreen? at the moment nothing shows up. just the back light. no matter what i do.

Try to flash another MP (R4441_G_08.03.05R based and RSA removed) if problem is still present there is probably hardware problem.

so where would the cables that connect to the outer screen be located?

it seems the problem has escalated and i cant turn on my phone anymore. The battery was full aswell. Bootloader mode doesnt work and also ive tried starting by using another battery to no avail.

Probably you need to replace flat cable, I think that you can bay it on ebay, but it is better to take the phone in the service.
