    contacts and messaging

hopefully someone can help with what is a bit of an old phone these days, have a razr v3i and have a problem with calls/messages, if i save a contact with the number 07**** then when they call the name is displayed, if they send a text then it comes up with the number +44**** alter the contact details to +44*** then the text shows the name but the call comes up with just the number, don't really want to duplicate all contacts and sure it should be an easy fix but can't find any help at present

on the v3i there is a "more" option when creating a contact. in this option you can add another number for the same contact, this way one contact name will have two numbers associated with it. this only works if you save the contact to Phone not SIM.

give this a try and let us know if it works

Yes it does work having the number in twice but have a previous Razr where the contacts are only entered once on the sims and that phone deals with the 07 and +44 numbers, i am sure it must be a setting somewhere in the phone that says to ignore the first few digits or something. I am going to try and get the old Razr and copy it, any idea how I would copy everything off one phone onto the other phone, or what i need to copy?
