Thread: How to: Correctly Install DAP
- 10-17-2008 05:11 PM #91
si ya lo instalaste de vuelta, abri el motomidman, selecciona el dap, hace click en el botón access abajo a la izquierda y ponele enable. Reinicia el celu y probalo
if you already installed it again, open motomidman, select dap, click on access button on left corner and click on enable. Restart your phone end you're done

i have been trying forever to get a working DAP on my V3i. I followed your guide but I keep getting the message DAP certificate has expired and the application isn't launched. Is there an up to date DAP that I can download that hasn't expired. By the way I tried 0.19 and 0.30 using all the options you suggested. Help please!!!!!!!

V3i + DAP son of a gun
hi guys, this is my first post... i can usually find all the help i want in this great site but this prob... i just don't know... like some of the other replies i'm having this prob with DAP on 2 x v3i's.
i even downloaded the whole D&G flash monster pack hoping this would resolve the prob. everything works fine except the DAP which see the files but fails on play.
So, i found your installation guide, deleted the existing DAP and tried the ..19 and the ..30 as suggested for my model together with the recommended attributes etc and... still the same thing.
I've also installed winamp which opens but sees no files. All of these work without a hitch on L7's but not my 2 v3i's.
is it something to do with permissions maybe?
Is there a standard monster pack with DAP or itunes that will work on my R479's ? i found one link on this site but the it error'd when unpacking.
can you help me pleeeeeeeez ?

got an update on the Digital Audio Player PLAY FAIL thing... following good advice & help from Kathy, i tried a few things -
like i said before on my first post, i have 2 v3i's with each has a different flashed monster packs installed - since then the DAP prob has arisen.. any music OR phones own ringtones won't play on DAP .. just play failed.
Now if i reboot taking out the mem card then go back into DAP it will play the ringtones etc. from the phone.
on both phones, If I reboot with the mem card back in and start DAP it wont play anything even the ringtones on the phone although they are all listed together with the music.
i just got a third v3i to test.. this one has its original software and DAP, it plays as it should with no problems at all.
the phone with Brand New monster pack, does the same as the D&G MP. with an exception... when the memcard is out and DAP started, so the ringtones play ok, if i put in the mem card without rebooting it says 'please wait' updates the playlist and ACTUALLY PLAYS THE FILES ONTHE MEM CARD.. now if i reboot with the mem card in, it reverts back to 'play failed'....
today i got a 3rd v3i with its original DAP & software.. the mem card and everything else plays without a hitch as it should.
it appears the problem only arises when you replace the originnal DAP player.. whether its just a DAP upgrade or a complete MP the problem still arises no matter what..
the fact that the files CAN play as above when the card is just shoved in while on... says that the problem must be in the way the replacement DAP is communicating with the file system with and without the mem card...
boy after all this i hope no-one has written all this before hehe..
anyway hope we can resolve this

Hm... I think it may have to do with your memory card version. I bet if you make an MP from the phone that works and flash it to the other phones, they will work as well.

yeah not sure about the memory card version thing, as both phones worked fine before the numerous DAP 'upgrades'
but good idea about trying the 'good' phone s/w on one of the others.... i will give it a try & update when done - thanks

Nice that you have a 3rd V3i there. Danation's theory should work. Keep us posted JV.

hey, great work.... i tried the delete videos thing and it WORKED ! i wonder if anyone is trying to resolve this... as it only appears to happen when the original DAP has been modded /replaced.

Glad you have it working! I'm guessing your DAP now is 5.0.10? I also had the default DAP that came with the V3i when I bought mine and replaced it with 5.0.19 with no problems, but if the upgrade is causing trouble for you, I guess you should just stick with the DAP you have.

So far, I've confirmed that 5.0.10 and 5.0.19 are the "official" versions for the V3i since they come bundled with the stock MP. AFAIK, 5.0.30 isn't really made for the V3i.

guys and girls, i reviewed some posts from the past and guess what? the answer is ...
only tried this on my v3i D&G monster pack so far...
for some reason.. when the orig DAP is replaced the new DAP gets confused if there are any video files on the mem card even though they are irrelevent to the program.. crazy huh?
So i deleted the videos leaving just the empty folder and guess what... it blinking works mate !!!
so it's a software prob be it the phone / the new DAP, something isn't being tied up correctly between them...
ps i tried puting back 3gps and mp4 to see what would happen...
still works with 3gps on the card
but fails on music when mp4's are present.
maybe there should be something in the DAP programs to tell it NOT TO READ THE VIDEO FOLDER ! that'd be great... if someone knows how to do that ???
i sure as heck don't hehe

Also, i have messed around with endless moto L7's and this problem has never occurred so it's something to do with the DAP and the v3i itself, it seemsLast edited by tinotino; 04-09-2009 at 02:14 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

That is very very interesting. Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, it would take more java knowledge than I have to decompile DAP and change it.
And WAY more assembly language knowledge than I have to patch the firmware for this issue.
Were you using the same versions of DAP on the L7?
