[noRSA] Bootloaders for E8, Patched CG31 for E8

Please any one provide me the step by step process to re install the software of my moto ROKR E8, I m new to this and have no Idea. the phone is DAMM slow sometimes.

Hi! Well, threse are the steps:

1- Download a recent version of RSD lite ( > to v4.3 ) and the latest motorola Usb drivers, as this guide explains:
[Guide] Flashing Linux Motorola's with RSD Lite Versions

Before flashing something, you need to know which is your bootloader version. Turn On your phone by pressing # + * + the power button at the same time.

As you can see in this thread, exists 4 boot version in this phone:
06.A3
06.A9
06.AA
06.AC

Flash the NoRsa bootloader which matches with your boot version.
NoRsa boot file allows you to flash unsigned firmwares (not OEM)
After flashing the NoRsa file (.sbf file) you must flash the patched cg31, one of this 2 files:

Patched CG31 for 06.A3 and 06.A5 noRSA bootloaders
Patched CG31 for 06.A9, 06.AA and 06.AC noRSA bootloaders

And now, once you flashed the patched, you are able to flash the MP that you want

I recommend you these MP:
[MP E8]Final Myth SP1 with 2 version by devilsking

[MP|E8] Z-Mod E8 2.4.5 FINAL Bourgeois Edition

Some MPs may include additional steps, or to include its own NoRsa files

All files must be flashed with RSD lite
Recommended to flash in windows xp.
In Win Seven, if it does not work, use the compatiblity mode with Xp to run the program

Hi,

I have had a E8 for quite a while now, but never really have though about modding it until a few days ago. I have read through most of the guides available here and pretty much understand what's necessary.

What I don't understand is flashing the patched CG31 part. If I flash CG31 alone first and then flash the MP of my choice, will this not 'overwrite' the CG31 I flashed before ? I tried splitting up the .sbf into CGs and then replaced the CG31 with the patched CG31 from here but ended up with the message "code corrupt". Got into bootloader and flashed my MP without the patched CG31 and it went ahead fine.

What is the use of flashing this patched CG31 ? Would really help if you could clear up this for me.

Have played around with the HTC HD2 earlier and this seems very different !
