[Guide] Making a Full Backup to your EM30/U9/E8
This is a simple guide for make a full backup to your: U9, E8 and EM30 ....
1. First of all, we need this program:
2. We need to install the oficial drivers from moto:
3. Poweron the phone in BL mode:
- [ hold on pressed at the same time the keys: ( # + * + Red Key/End Call/Poweron ) ]
4. Connect the phone to your pc, open the program MotoMagxBackup, see images below:
- The program should show some details, we need to pick the correct loader to our phone model.
- Select the Code Groups, if you want a full backup you should select all the cg's.
- When you are making a backup from 1 or 2 small cg's, the process should be fast, if you make a full backup you should wait around 5 or 10 min to finish the backup, when the backup is done! your phone should power on.

On ZN5 our experience is that you cannot properly back up CG37 and CG48 (both corrupted). Does that apply here as well?

yes, the same thing happen, CG37 and CG48 are bigest than the original ones.

Its is normal for the program to appear unresponsive, same thing happens to SBF Recalc for example, when the program goes back to normal the backup will be done, dont worry its normal

You'll need SBF Recalc, once you have it get them all in one folder with all RAMldr [hope you still have them, if not tell me your bootloader] and then create it with the app

yesi cant the 2 files it ask for.
it say it lack of .hmg and ramldr file something
pls send me if possible

when i try to compile it using sbf recal, it says headerfile not found **** .hdr or .hmg missing?

Decompile other FW that matches your BL and use its .hdr and .hmg
Then put it on the same folder as the files you are tryin' to compile and that should work fine

I'm using E8..
I cant make this steps.. first I dont know how to change it to BL mode.. and what is BL mode..? then when I open the application there is no connected device.. please help me with my problem.. thank you.. and sorry for being noob..Last edited by akuztikero12; 07-19-2009 at 02:27 AM.

bl mode is boot loader mode.
turn off your phone and then press "*" + "#" + "power button" all in the same order.
and u have to install the motorola usb drivers to get your phone detected by your PC.
