Superguides, are, most of the time, compilations of all the guides that are inside our beloved community. We do have a Guides sections, but, n00bs tend to miss it all over the time, so it's more practical to have a thread, with all the information right away.

||Basic modding & flashing||

What in the heck is modding?
Modding is to customize your phone to whatever you like, with the only limitations that your and everyone else knowledge gives you, so sky is the limit [at least if you are skilled enough]; Remember, modding is all about sharing, so don't be selfish, we are all n00bs .

What happen if i flash my phone
It'll improve it's speed, it'll accept formats that won't be accepted when stock [like MGX, MGS], and it'll be customized to your needs.

When i flash, do i lose all my information?
Yes, but you can always do a backup of all your CodeGroups, as seeing here.

Doing a backup of each CodeGroup is tiring, can i do something else to be safe?
Sure, do a backup of your important files , this MGX might help you.

What are the files i should manually backup and what's their location?
SMS, Contacts [/ezxlocal/sysDatabase]
Websessions [/ezxlocal/download/appwrite/NetProfile]
UserMenuTree [/ezxlocal/download/appwrite/am]
CFG files [/ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup]

If i flash, do i lose all my songs [the ones on my microSD and my phone]?
No, but you'll lose things like Websessions, personal configurations of the CFG files, contacts, SMS, etc.

How do I find what bootloader I have?
Turn your phone off, then press the * and # keys while turning on, and this screen should appeir.



How do I find what firmware do i have?
Main Menu> settings> Phone Settings> Properties> AP S/W version. It will look something like R6713_G_71.02.07R.

If i get please manually power this phone on, or so xD; what can i do?
Disconnect and then take the battery out, and turn again, it doesn't matter if you connect it or you don't.

Flash 06.A3 noRSA, then you can flash any FW, like THIS

Flash 06.A9 noRSA, then you must Flash 06.A9/06.AA/06.AC Patched CG31, after that, you can any FW, which doesn't contain CG31.
[How do you know that? The FW must specify it, if not, probably it has CG31, and you'll get an error]

Welcome to MagX, those apps are for P2K, and they'll be obsolet with your new phone, get used to P2K .

Can i change my BootLogo and StartUp animation?
Sure, this MGX will do the trick for BootLogo, and to change the animation, well, Main Menu> Settings> Themes> choose your theme> Options> Edit> right arrow> scroll down to Power On Screen> Center Button.

What's the maximun memory on ROKR E8?
THe maximum is 32GB on the newest MagX like E8 or ZN5.

I want to use P2KTools, MotoMidMan and SkiMan, why don't they work on my awesome phone?
Welcome to MagX, those apps are for P2K, and they'll be obsolet with your new phone, get used to P2K .

||Common Issues||

I want to put themes in my E8, but it's stock and i don't want to flash, can i use modded skins?
Sure, Check this out.

Why i can't install MGX?
Probably because your Firmware doesn't support them, try with any new FW, like 1013CR from ilove3d or BestWebs.

Why i can't install MGS?
You need to have at least 1410R from ilove3d to run them [1410R or 1013CR are the only ones that run MGS natevely].

I can't see my menu, what's wrong?
Probably you have erased your UserMenuTree, if you have a backup [clever boy ] go to ezxlocal/apwrite_am/UserMenuTree and restore it [copy/paste]. If you didn't then you'll have to reflash.

What do i do if my phone show the message: Please insert subsidy code, when i turn it on?
Your phone, is probably, locked, get yourself a unlock code and then let us know, remember that unlock codes for MagX must have 16-digits, if it doesn't, believe it won't work .

How do i know if my phone in unlocked?
Insert a SIM Card from a different company from the one you are using in that moment, and if the message, Please insert subsidy code, appeirs, then is locked, if not, then your phone is unlocked.

I lost my Setting [MMS, SMS, etc]. What can i do?
Check this website , Or if you want, you can check this THREAD [U.S. Settings].

I want to flash a modded FW, but it's just for 06.A3 BL, what can i do?
Flash your noRSA, then flash acording to this post, then remove CG31 from your FW, and flash it

I need to ask this, but it's stupid cuz I read it somewhere before.....
Well ,Im bout to buy a 16GB Micro SDHC. It works with any class?? cuz i've seen that u have class 2, class 6, some have more or less speed. Plz enlight me a bit .

The reader is a 2.0 reader, the class is thing is more a speed issue, as our phones are able to read those, you can buy any class, the thing with them is that if you buy (let's say class 10 cards, only announced) a card with higher speed that the supported on our phone, you will only be losing a couple MB of transfer speed rate, but not much more

i have a problem with changing themes, i want to change themes without flashing so i used the theme manager that av3lar had provided, but im kinda stuck in detecting my modem, it just stop on scanning wlan something.

is there a program i should install? sorry kinda new with E8

ok i did be able to "upload" some themes using the themeuploader(don't want to flash my E8) but here are other problems...

all i can see is some crappy image of ROKR(the default wallpaper) whenever i apply some themes(those themes came from m3 as well), it doesn't even change the buttons, backgrounds, etc. & all of the installed themes are all 2.65mb(ea), i think they should vary depending of the kind of themes(had E6 before & didn't have any problem installing themes)

wakatsik if u figure out the answer to ur problem plz post it because i have the same problem i put themes on my rokr e8 (no flash) and when i use them nothing changes. Also at the end of any theme i put on my e8 it says theme name (modified)

If theme manager didn't work, did you try P2K Commander? it's the method below ThemeManager, i can't really test those methods, cuz my phone is flashed, but i'll recheck them this weekend

so i tried putting a new bootloader on the 6.3a and i was the 6.ac and im pretty sure that was stupid, since my computer does not detect it at all, confirmation?
