you have to download some MGX files from the ZN5 forum, the ZN5's files will do the work.

ok so I install the telnet and USB MGX file first?

I'll try that and then re-install the other apps and also try to install the themes.

Go to Office tools, there should be a MpkgBox2
All the installed MGX applications will be there.
just put the .mgx files in your phone(everywhere.)
and with a click on the .mgx file will ask you where to install, and that's all.
now the installed file will be shown in mpkgbox2.

And the themes,
put them in the folder called skins(phone or memory card)
then enter settings -> themes ->
it should be there if your theme is correct.

PS.Like this:
Phone memory > skins > YourSkinName(This folder name cannot contain a space or the system will not detect it correctly.)

ZN5 skin works on U9, too. (about 90%.)

ok, awesome. got the apps working. Now only the themes are yet to be tested. I'll check and provide feedback. THanks so much.

I tried to install the themes, I downloaded the crystal theme which you used but when I went to the themes folder in settings, a dialogue popped up asking me to delete the invalid themes. :P

What's the solution to this?

ahh, you've put the Folder directly into it. (i think)
Ive mentioned that there can't be a space in the name of the folder
Try changing the Folder Name from "Crystal Carbon" to "CrystalCarbon"
it should ask you to delete invalid .chm files, just click yes, and the theme'll show up.

I can't understand yout post using google translate xD

After flashing your phone, there'll be no applications but MPKGBox2. Not even FTP & snapshot.
So the first step to do after flashing is to download the FTP and snapshot apps XD
(Unlike the pink mod, or somename like this which I found on the .ru forum, the FTP function doesn't come with the F/W pack.)

The FTp function is again included in the FW, so just connect to the PC using Tools and modem and it should be working

Can someone help me reassign the voice activation key as a softkey? I want to use it for the taskmanager. So that if any application hangs we can just exit the application.

Also I found an app for zn5(if I remember properly) which lets me use the phone as a webcam. can I use it with U9?

and I am looking for some games. I downloaded lots but none worked. :P All were java games but not made for u9.

Well, I can;t help you with the part of shortcuts, xD
(But i somehow managed to change the camera key for opening MpkgBox2, not what I really wanted though.)

If it's the JAVA problem, try Java Adapter for Mobile (JAM)
Almost all the moto-linux phones got the same problem xD
This program helps you with the keys that aren't working.(Such as Left/Right Soft key)
Just:
1. Select the JAVA game you want
2. Select E2 as the model to adapt for
3. Select Nokia as the model to adapt from
4. Check "Testing Compatibility 3D API"
and
5. Click Adapt JAR
Enjoy the game.

i dont get themes work on the new version of this flash.
i try solution with skins folder on mmc and easy themes from E8 but nothing works
but speed with 128MB swapfile is just fantastic.

Try put he theme files in the phone memory.
I think ive read from somewhere of the topic that the author had canceled the theme support on Memory card, because it'll cause a restart if you connect your phone to the PC with memory-card mode when a theme on mem.card is mounted.

You're not gonna create a folder directly in the root...
No, you'll have to create a folder in your phone memory, where you can see stuffs like "Pictures, Videos...." etc.

Connect your phone, enter it with Filezilla, and enter the folder:
ezxlocal -> download -> mystuff
This is where you can see when using the File manager in your phone.
In this same folder, create a folder "skins" and put your theme there.
That's all.

Remember that this is a way to give you virtually access to every place your phone has, and some of them are written protected, like root

This is the one think that works 100% thank you very much

it ist just unbelievable how fast the phone works after that flash and swap activation. i have paid for MPKGBox 2.0 and i will do it again. just fantastic.
much faster then my V8 with Evolution3 and the U9 looks much better
