error after edit CG36

after edit file mime.types in CG36, I compile it with mksquashfs (2.1 ver and the also tested with latest ver),=>> flash =>>> error

the initial size of Cg36: 48.5MB
after modding : 46.5MB

what is the problem and how can i fix it?

Did u editing in proper Linux OS?..CG36 require Linux OS.

yep. I edited in Ubuntu 11.04

obviously u can't unsquashfs in window to unpack CG36

do u know how to fix this?

Don’t be panic. Size is ok. It is less than original, because blank spaces (FF) are included in original CG.

Do these process:
1) Create a folder & copy all the CGs (replace Cg36 with moded CG36) in that folder
2)Replace CG31 with patch CG31(Check your FW version for corresponding CG31)from here:[noRSA] Bootloaders for E8, Patched CG31 for E8

3) Recompile using SBF recalc as below:

4)Create SBF file
5) Flash noRSA bootloader (Check ur original boot loader ver) on your phone.

6)Flash your moded FW.
Done.

i did as u told me to but it reported after I flash: Code Group corrupted.

I wonder if i use wrong version. ~.~

Can U send me the unsquashfs + mksquashfs to mod mod E8 in ubuntu???

Use any 32bit unsquashfs2.2/3.1/4.0 version for uncompress and 32bit mksquashfs2.1 or2.2 for compress...

Here is my steps

1. unsquashfs CG36 with squashfs 4.0
2. replace the current mime.types with modded file
3. recompile Cg36 with mksquashfs 2.1 (I did as you told me and it worked in fixing the size the same with original file) thanks
4. recompile all CG with shbrecal.
5.flash =>> T______T error in checksum CG36 => Code Group corrupted once again

Step number 4) did you marked "Calculate All CGs New & Write New Descriptor" from Advance option of SBF recalc before recompiling?Attachment 0

ah ha! it works. but.... after flashing, my phone rebooted and only displayed the boot screen! OMG

I just mod FW Black Diamond superb (i currently use this fw for my Rokr)
in CG36: mod mime.types
CG52: sysmime

In this case, you have to add below info in "/etc/mime.types" file:

application/mplayer flv avi flac vob dat mov pvs ipod dvd 3g2 psp dv mmf ogg au mkv ogm mp2 flc fli mpeg mpg mpe

and below info in "/usr/data_resource/preloadapps/SysMime" file

[application/mplayer]
AppList = {faea4444-deea-40dc-a444-612be75eb444**;
AppID = {faea4444-deea-40dc-a444-612be75eb444**

Where {faea4444-deea-40dc-a444-612be75eb444** is the AppID for Mplayer which should be registered in "/usr/data_resource/preloadapps/SysRegistry" file

So there is no more issue? For stock fw, you should replace CG31 with patch CG31.

I mod the FW that the author share and there is no CG31 when I split the *.sbf file T_________T help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. Black Diamond is a customized FW & author removed CG31 from this MP. I was telling for Stock fw. That is if you want to mod a stock fw, you should replace CG31 with patch CG31 for CR_A, ER_B, 13R_E fw. For more info pls visit here: [noRSA] Bootloaders for E8, Patched CG31 for E8
