[Guide] to unlock PEBL U6
Hi every one
This is my first tread
I'm sorry but my english isn't very good!
This is a complete "how to" unlock your PEBL U6.
Here is the part needed for the setup i used:
Hardware:
wires
needle
grinder with cutting disc (dremel)
USB cable
TORX #t6 screwdriver (ebay, electronic shop, good friend)
switch (6 connector) (optionnal)
aligator clip (optionnal but very useful)
voltmeter (optionnal)
shrink tube (optionnal)
Software:
P2K Easy tool v3.9 (google it! i can't link it)
P2K driver 2.9 (google it, it come with P2K ET most times)
Other:
DREMEL SKILLS!!!
This is based on my own experience, it MAY not work for you.
step 1: Disassamble
Shut your phone OFF. Open battery cover, get the battery out of there. You should see 4 screws , 1 in each corners. Unscrew them. You can now get the main board out of the main compartment. get the keypad off too. There will be a LITTLE connector to the lcd screen, unplug it gently. Now the main board should be free.
step 2: Grinding
you need to grind the big metal shield. look at the picture:
Here is TEST POINT location (try to grind in that area):
Step 3: Preparation
You'll need to find a way to connect the battery, connect the USB cable and givre ground to the testpoint.
Here's what i've done: to connect the battery, i've put 2 connector in a rubber mat to aling with the battery connection, i've "twist" a wire around the needle and put some shrink tube to hold it togeter (tape would work too). i've connected the battery to a switch so it's easy to on/off, and i've link my voltmeter to the switch so i know if my battery is connected correctly. I've clamp the "ground wire to one of the metal shield on the main board with a mini clamp.
Connect the switch to the battery connection on the main board with alligator clip.
here's the picture:

battery connection:

Step 4: unlocking
First you'll need to install drivers. unzip p2k driver 2.9 somewhere on your hard drive , connect usb cable, connect the test point with the needle and turn switch to ON, windows should ask you to install new hardware. say NO to the first question (if you want to search driver trough internet), install it by selecting where the driver is manually.
keep the needle on the test point.
after that open p2k easy tool , select your phone, go in lock tab, click unlock sp, click do selected job. p2k will tell you when you can disconnect the test point.
Done. you're unlock (maybe
)
If you didn't install the phone driver correctly (like i did first time, i disconnected test point to early) you need to uninstall it from device manager in windows, the phone must be connected with the test point to see it and uninstall it.
