Six new, low budget phones...don't expect Android

Motorola has announced not just one or two, but six new phones, though they all seem to be budget-centric phones. Still, if you’re on a tight budget and shopping for a new phone, they might pique your interest.

The first two are the MOTO WX161 and the W181. Both are classic candybar phones with 1.3-inch and 1.5-inch displays respectively. Not many details were supplied, aside from the availability of a LED torch feature and FM radio.

The MOTO WX260 and WX265 offer the same technical specifications, but the former is a candybar, while the latter sports a clamshell form factor. They offer Bluetooth 2.0, WAP browser, FM radio, audio player, microSD card expansion up to 2GB.

Finally, the MOTO WX290 and WX295 offer 1.8-inch displays, built-in camera, MMS features, LED torch, Bluetooth 2.0, WAP 2.0 browser and FM radio.

Pricing isn’t available at the moment, but you can bet that they won’t break the bank.

If they'd be shipped with CrystalTalk 2, nice budget phones out there.

it seems likely that the ones with FM and torch are for India. they are quite a fad here.

This WX series models are all ODM* phones .
I recently got a MOTO WX395. The phone is designed and assembled by Motorola in PRC (China), battery and charger are made by BYD Electronic (chinese ODM* company); handsfree is the one that can be found on some Alcatel phones (no Moto logo on it). The OS is also an Alcatel like, plus some Moto stuff (themes, ringtones, wallpapers, startup&shutdown themes...).
There is no Java support and no Motorola iTap mode (all have T9 mode).

*An original design manufacturer (ODM) is a company which designs and manufactures a product which is specified and eventually branded by another firm for sale.
