    AT Device Disconnected

Hi there. Newbie here to the world of Moto and Phone Modding. I followed the guide "[Guide] Installing the Drivers in Vista & XP"
    I then open P2kCommander V4.9.5
Icon in the System Tray shows AT Device Disconnected. Everything I try to do tells me that the phone is not connected. The phone is connected via USB. It is charging.
Device Manager shows two items labeled Motorola...
    Modems - Motorola USB Modem
Ports (COM & LPT) - Motorola USB Diagnostic Port (COM5)

    Grateful for any suggestions!

I assume you have not installed the drivers. Follow the Get Connected guide first.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, I have already done that. I stated in my first sentence... I followed the guide "[Guide] Installing the Drivers in Vista & XP"

I tried it 3 times. Disconnected the phone, removed the drivers, reinstalled, reconnected. No change.

Try P2k Tools. Make sure if you are using P2k Commander that you have the P2k 05 turned OFF in the options menu.

Same result with P2ktools. Disconnected status. Before trying the drivers in the guide here, I tried the official drivers (if thats what you call them anyway). I am wondering if it is still grabbing those drivers. Anybody had an issue like that?

I really think you don't have your drivers all installed. Try opening up RSD Lite, and connecting the phone while in boot loader mode (hold * and # while powering the phone on) and see if Windows prompts for any new devices. If it does, point the wizard to the P2k drivers, and you should be good then.
