Just ordered K1, anything I should know?
Hi guys. I've finally decided to retire the V3, and order a Krzr. Yeah, I know its already pretty old, but whatever, it looks pretty cool. So, I understand theres a Mini SD card slot on the phone. I bought a 1GB card. I plan on putting some full length songs on the card, and I can play them through the speakerphone on the phone? Is that correct? Also, my Mom had a K1, she left it on the coffee table and the pug got a hold of it and cracked up the front glass (?), I was looking at an Invisible Shield for my new K1. Can anyone recommend a good quality case that will protect my new phone? Also, just any general advice would be great.
Oh, I use Moto Phone Tools v 5.17d with my V3. Will this version work with my new K1? Also, this may be off topic, but I use Audacity to cut my ringtones, and then use P2K Tools to move them over. I find that if I clip and move with Moto Phone Tools, it sounds like crap once it gets to the phone. Any advice on that?
Thanks for reading this whole thing, and thanks in advance for any advice/answers.

Yes you can play the songs on the speakerphone.
Not sure about the case.
You can still clip with audacity but you can use full length songs too cause you have much more space than the v3.
I never used MPT with k1 but you can just copy songs or whatever to the mem card in mass storage mode, like a disk drive so no need for MPT.

Thanks for the reply.
Ok, cool. So I can set full songs as ringtones? I know it will only ring for the 25 or 30 seconds, or whatever it is, but can I just set that file as a ringtone? Also, I assume I can put ringtones and full songs in different folders on the memory card. That way when I have songs playing, I dont have ringtones play in between.

Not that simple. But i usually if i have ringtones just put them on phone mem and my songs on mem card.
Otherwise you'll have to create a playlist to keep the separate.
And yeah you can apply any mp3 as a ringtone even from the mem card.

May as well just use full songs, imo.

It's about the same durability as V3, in my opinion. I currently have both (Well, V3r and V3re, but you get the idea.)
I recently got my K1 and it seems to have the same durability. With that said, I've noticed eBay has a bunch of clear casings and such.

Thanks for the help guys.
Still more questions
. So the K1 has two media players? I assume the Java one is easier to use to play songs from the memory card? Which player do you use? Also, can I order earbuds to listen to my music from my phone? Oh, yet another ?, can I close my phone while its playing music, or will this shut off the player?
Thanks!!

Yes. yes and yes.
For java players other than dap you must remove rsa. There's also a elf player called tunes.

Sorry I don't use that but its ok I guess.
You can't minimize dap though.

Well I'm sure I'll figure it out.
I just ordered a Zagg InvisibleSHIELD for the Krzr. They gave 50% off with a discount code for Memorial Day. Hopefully that install will go well. Anyone have experience with a Zagg?
So my phone came in today. I'm still waiting for my Zagg to come in. I was wondering if you think I should wait until I have the invisible shield on it before I start using it, or just charge it up tonight and start using it? My only worry is that I don't want it to get scratched up. What do you think I should do?Last edited by andyt4097; 05-28-2009 at 04:49 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

This phone isn't the most scratch resistant. If you're worried about scratches, I'd wait for the shield or at least be fairly careful with it.
I find that as long as my keys aren't in the same pocket, it stays in pretty good shape.

Open it as in open the package? Or disassemble?
