Quick question.

Did a search didn't find any other postings.

I am interested in installing this mod on my K1, but as I live in China, I need to be able to read Chinese characters and also use pinyin input. Would I be able to re-install those services (and find them in fact) to install with the mod?

Otherwise it looks awesome and I appreciate all the hard work you did. I would love to try it, but if I can't get Chinese support it would be a little pointless for me.

I didnt remove any languages...i think you need to flash a language pack to the phone.

Ok, so I got it installed, not everything works, but it looks awesome!

I did install the Chinese language pack so I can read characters, but still no pinyin input... that's the next hurdle.

Also, Itunes doesn't load for some reason.... Other than that, it looks fantastic and I can't wait to play with it and fix it up more....

If you or anyone else has any ideas on where to find/install pinyin chinese input or let me know how to fix itunes, I would greatly appreciate it.

And thanks again for making this fun little pack!

In order for Itunes to work you need to put the elf files on your memory stick. Im pretty sure i included the ELF folder with my pack...just copy the elf folder to the root of your memory stick

Well, not to try to be negative or anything, but I did copy all the elf files, no problem. Couldn't really try many of the online ones (google maps, opera, etc) since I had never gotten the China Mobile GPRS set up. But I did copy the elfs, several times. so Itunes would just time out and do nothing, which was better than other features...

Motocmd and virtual corelet would freeze the phone completely.... Had to pull the battery every time... Needless to say I stopped playing with the extra stuff after a half a dozen battery pulls...

Ideally I was looking for an ebook reader that would work without having to seriously modify the txt files. Word froze every time I tried loading any and txt reader wanted me to split the txt file into chapters... All possible but annoying...

The final straw was when I noticed I had developed the backlight problem where it would never turn off.... Not good on battery life, let me tell ya! tried a bunch of stuff here, but to no avail... Again nothing I did would shut that backlight off.... Only real solution I found online was reflashing.....

Sadly I decided to reflash back to one of the RSA removed firmwares:
R452F_G_08.03.08R_reflash_noRSA

And that did it..... Bricked it... White screen o' death.....

I did open it up, perform the surgery and 3 HOURS! later I was able to flash again.... Boy, that was rough..... but I got it. Finding a bit of wire a needle and cutter capable of the job at 3am.....

This time I flashed it to: K1_CMCC_NSL_R4527_G_08.12.10R
the China Mobile firmware in the mods section.....

Thankfully the phone is back, and on an even more pleasant note, not only is pinyin input and chinese character support already built in, but the full set of GPRS settings are also pre-installed. So I can click the internet button and connect instantly. I dont use it much but its fun to have. GPRS is fast and cheap here..

Gotta say, I liked your pack a lot. It looked good and those little extra details would have been nice. I think I will just break down and buy the only decent little java app I have found to date for reading ebooks on the K1 - Libris (9.95, not bad)
and manually install opera, though I suspect it wont launch from the softkey. Ahh well. Now to find a little more "friendly" music player and I will be set.

sounds like you are either trying to use my old elf folder or you havent uploaded the correct files to the phone. Files in the "B" folder go to the memory stick...files in the "A" & "C" folder need to be correctly uploaed to the phone. I uploaded a fix for the backlight somewhere...i think its in this thread on one of the pages.

Sorry I know its still kinda buggy...when i started this i had alot of free time. I wanted to make a MP that was different from all the others. Now i simply dont have the time...you can do some work on it if you want and ill reupload it

Hey guys i flashed the mp and all is ok,but i notice there's a "J#$H's Perfect K1 Reflash - Elite Hacks 2009.shx" file.Do i flash this as well and if so,should i use fb3 or rsd and do i flash it in blank mode or not thanks for any help.

the reflash is for flashing over the monster pack when you mess something up. You only need to flash the MP

As I had mentioned earlier (somewhere in this forum), is it possible to split the pack. My anti-virus auto protect is picking up virus within the compressed RAR file.

I have same internet connection problem here.
