i remember reading a way to remap the camera key to be menu then you could read messsages.
It was really silly though.

Why not? It was possible on the old V635 and V360.
It's a simple case of setting up shortcuts, remapping the smart button to act as Joystick Center, putting the Shortcut icon at position 5 of your menu and your done.
When you close the flip, you press the smart key twice, brings up the menu. Then you can read messages, scroll through your phonebook etc.
Of course you have no ability to write new messages but it's kinda cool, and useful if you use a BT headset.Motorola Z3 - Black - RSA Removed, .0DR, Dualboot 3.3

Exactly. You can read messages, but of course you have to open the flip to create them or delete.
You can have camera. Ring Styles. Phonebook. Sounds. Pretty much anything.
Last time I tried was, as I said, with my V635 so I'm not sure how things have changed, but it's definately possible.
I was able to call people and go straight to speakerphone if I had no headset plugged in.
Hmm....might try and nab my dad's KRZR for a bit and have a fiddle heh.Motorola Z3 - Black - RSA Removed, .0DR, Dualboot 3.3

You cannot read text messages with the external screen. Well I cannot. When navigating the messages menu, clicking the inbox, outbox, or drafts causes the top half of the external screen to turn blue. Then you cannot navigate anymore.

This is not exactly the question for this topic, but it's sort of related and I didn't want to start a new one (I'm sure there is one already, only I can't find it)... How do I make my phone reject calls with the flip closed? I know there is a way and I tried the edit menu option on P2KToolsVS (P2K Menu Editor just refuses to cooperate with my phone, no idea why - it sees it all right, just won't load the menu), but didn't/couldn't find the option that is responsible for rejecting calls. Could anyone helpme with this or show me the way to a tutorial, please? Thanks!

Well u can press the voice button (the only one on the right side) to silent an incoming call...but this will not reject it...if u really wana reject the calls u can use p2kmenu editor to map the voice button to the red end key, that way u can reject an incoming call with the flip closed...but on the other hand u will not have the voice button feature...

I don't mind not having the voice button, as I'm not using the voice dialling feature anyway. But how do I exactly do map that red end key to the voice button?... Is there any tutorial for this?... I'm using P2K Tools (because I still can't get the P2K Menu Editor to work) and I just can't find that red end key anywhere in the options...

What version of p2k are u using? u may have to try again to get p2kmenu editor to work since thats the program made to do things like that...not all p2k software can map keys...

P2KToolsVS 3.0.8.864, and I've got P2K Menu Editor 2.3 mod 1. None of the P2K Menu Editor version I managed to find worked, which is pretty weird as all the other P2K software (such as P2kCommander, for example) works perfectly fine... Any idea what I might be doing wrong?... The strangest thing is that the P2K Menu Editor does see my phone, it just won't load the menu, giving me I/O Error 998 message.

WHY I LOST ALMOST MY ''THANKED'' ???

Thanks! Strange as it may seem, the P2K Menu Editor loaded the seem from my phone with no problems O_O. I never even tried it after it wouldn't load the menu tree... But your comment made me think and I opened the tools menu and decided to give the mapping a try and it worked
. So now I have the red end key mapped to what used to be the smart key (on the left, under the volume keys) and I transferred the smart key to the right side, in place of the voice button I never really used anyway. Seems pretty convenient so far so I'm really glad
. Thanks again!
