Trying to flash Z8 firmware after reset loop. Need assistance
Folks, first off, excellent forum and excellent threads. My Z8 fell into the infamous reset loop the very first day of ownership and google brought me here. Read through each thread, downloaded all the firmwares, RSDlite 4.1 and went to work.
I tried ALL the firmware versions. I get the same error:
"Phone not compatible with multi-interface super file (0x703B)"
Can anyone help troubleshoot? My flash loader version is 46.02.16. Bought the phone in Singapore.
Folks, I think I figured it out. Pressing 1 & 3 to load flash loader resulted in the same error over and over again. For a chance I booted up and pressed * & #. Walla! The flashing worked. Running the Ferrari firmware now.
Once again, thanks to this forum for helping me revive my expensive paperweight.
Susanu and Co. now I have really done it, I think.
The phone again went into the reset loop inspite of the latest firmware I flashed on. I think I let the battery go too low and walla, it went into the reset loop.
I was in the middle of flashing it when the phone went blank, just died. I thought, oh well the battery must have been completely flat. I charged it up all night and now the phone won't even turn on. Nothing, no flash loader, no lights, pressing the power does nothing. Pulled the battery out and put it in again, but nothing.
I am really beginning to dislike this phone. I have made a total of 2 phone calls since I bought this rather expensive phone 2 weeks ago and have had to constantly mess with it just to get it working. All this time, my blackberry is laughing its keypad off.
OK, an update. The phone did power on, but only stayed on for a brief 2-3 seconds. The flash loader screen came on but the phone died again. I am beginning to guess the battery is still flat. I may have switched the chargers around. Isn't one motorola charger the same as another? The funny thing is that when I connect the charger in, the green light in the bottom lights up, indicating the phone is charging. But the battery is still flat.
When I connect to the PC, the green light shows up, but disappears after a short while. Does the phone only charge when the OS is running? How can I get this thing juiced up long enough to flash a new OS on it???
Bump. Anyone got any thoughts??

I got no clue. Not an experienced modder of any kind, though. I'd say you got a defective unit, never experienced anything close to that on mine.
*knocks on wood*
Take a look around the forum, a few people have experienced this, and some might have found a solution. Some did for their problems, might or might not be the same problem.
as I said, I never had a problem. I know others have experienced similar things and may or may not have found a solution, you can look around there's not too many threads here so should be easy to find. Good luck
hoping someone can help. i have had the same issues as above. I have downloaded the new firmware and the flash loader. It goes through what seems to be half the installation, but fails as my phone is waiting for BP support? can anyone hlelp?
hey guys ive been having the same problem. and managed to solve half of the issue. i charged my phones battry using my friends z8. then i flashed it with the ferrari firmware. But it still restarted i did a little reading on mobile-review.com and some forums and i discovered that the only way to cure the reset loop is to clear the iram. this can be done through a master reset, but thats kinda impossible when the phone is barely on for ten seconds after booting. So if we can figure out how to clear the iram of the phone using a some software similar to rsd maybe our phones can be saved
