A lil about 2388 FIRMWARE

Hi everyone,

I ve been using RIZR Z8 for abt a month now..... I have tried out firmwares from 2267 to 2393 and here is a lil info abt them....

2267

some guy said in our forums that this firmware records video in HQ, i tried it out and it sucks... I flashed it, waited 2 minutes for the phone to warm up, took the cam and WHOA! the OS hanged...... Very bad firmware....

2312c5 Ferrari Branded

I've used it for several days, its good though i've experienced some call voice delay probs, u need to use tweak peak if u want the phone menu to be faster as 2388 f/w.. Overall i'd say this firmware is pretty stable...

2312c4 unbranded

This was entirely different from ferrari f/w. i had troubles with this firmware. I've experienced slowdowns and several hangs wid this one, also when u record vids in backlight mod, the video records in single colors sometimes...

2393 Engineering/Debug

Overall good, but have bugs like cant resume audio playback after receiving a call...ALSO does not support custom fonts

2388c8 Foxmod MP

Has troubles and stability probs, if u open file manager then go to media gallery the phone hangs........

NOW THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING FIRMWARE, THERE ARE MANY VARIATIONS;

2388c8 x9d1

This is the one used in foxmod and basically the most available one on every modding website. Its pretty stable and good but there are bugs... Once i was listening to music via headset, then suddenly i tried to take a photo but all i got was an error showing the phone cannot shoot photos, tried several times... I had to reboot the phone to take photos....[ its does not happen every time].. Also the phone switches itself off sometimes [swissmngr&tweakpeak working in background]

2388c8 x00bb

Another variation to the 2388 F/W... its very stable, but its slow.. It re-reads the media gallery each time when its opened, even when switching folders. Also the phone becomes less responsive..



2388c8 x9b4

This is the firmware i'm using now... Just flashed it today.... Soo far so good.. But It does not support custom fonts[ ie; the firmware did not automatically changed the fonts after rebooting]..

There are many variations, i saw some guy posting that he's using 2388c3 in his phone currently...

So if anyone have a version other than the above ones [2388 F/w], plz post em here.........

As far as i experienced different variations have different bugs... So i look forward to flash/find the best variant [stable Version] of 2388 F/W.

Have you tried 2388C8 ? Am using it in North America, works fine very few bugs so far.

Meh, despite all that, I'm back to the unbranded 2312. It actually works fine with my Rogers SIM card, I'll have to live with the slowness and the few Java bugs (not that I use Java apps that much anyway)...

Hmm now i am using 2388c8 the same one as above but my phone is engineering one it always gives errors like a blank black screen when push the slider.then it returns back to the one upper or main menu whne you enter a menu or anything else you do.one more it does not play wma files.only mp3 files.can this be fixed or is it eternally non-fixable. any idea will be greatly appreciated
