Hi, i just got a few questions about modding the L6:
How do i install a skin/theme?
How do i install java apps (with only a .jar file)?
How do I make the two smart keys on the side the volume up/volume down button?

The menu file mma_ucp stores where the gif files are located, either some folder or in the DRM. Usually the author of a skin will state where to put the files. by font you mean language pack? .shx or .bin or .smg file? Needs to be flashed as CG4.

You can use Random's F&B or RSD Lite and just select the .shx file and write data. In F&B you also have to ensure you select the correct phone profile in the top drop down list, then click write data button on the top menu. then click select flash file then Write data.

This goes without saying. Always make full backup before attempting any mod no matter how small.

Always make a backup of your whole phone.

but be aware, if you dont pay for f&b, you will lose all your ringtones/pictures/sounds/videos/txt files/skins etc. so back those up with p2k tools.

Not with the latest version. Version 3.0.6 allows you to backup the flex in trial mode.
