boogered up L6!

i'm new to the phone modding concept, but i've managed to do a few things without any issues. however, i was trying to install a drm for a new skin when RSD lite gave me a "flash failed" message. so i switched to fb3 and tried again. this time, i got a weird line of unreadable crap and then my L6 went dead. just keyboard lights when you try to power it on.

since stupid me didn't create a backup, i guess i'm left to install a mp, right? I can't find how to install one with fb3 (don't know start address, cg,...). rsd lite keeps giving the flash failed message and nothing happens. is an mp my only option? and if it is, how do I get one working?

btw SW version R3517_G_0A.63.18R. haven't seen another one w/18R--don't know if that matters?? bought it unlocked...

^^yea at first i thought i was mistaking the 8 for a B, but it's definitely an 8. i managed to bring the phone back with the iphone mp, but it wouldn't take the stock one or the stock drm. really weird....but hey i got my phone back and i did actually backup my phonebook and datebook elsewhere. guess thats what really counts. eventually i'll get confident/bored enough to mess with it again though. this site is really handy once you get a few vocabulary words down!

have seen other copys or ...18R - its the lates version of the firmware.
glad you got it working thought.

you should be able to flash stock firmware although you may have to remove the RSA protection to get it to flash ok !!

@knight,what are the advantages of having a newer f/w,I no that R3517 is better than 11 bcoz of keypad lock and speed,but whats the diff between R3517s editions?

no idea mate - just minor bug fixes i would guess - i really dont know as i never notice any diffrence and i have tried most firmware versions !!
