Unlocking V3xxR Solution

This may be a month late but I can confirm that this worked 100% on my V3xxR R27231 (my phone was not frozen at the boot screen). Thank you very much.

Sales pitch? I didn't realize he was selling anything. I even went back and rechecked his post but I still don't see anything for sell. To be honest, I thought he was just trying to help people. My bad I guess.

Anyway, I do not have a T-Mobile SIM card to try inputting a subsidy code but I still wanted to unlock my phone. Every way I saw of doing it involved either a T-Mobile SIM card (I have AT&T) or paying out some money. I came across this thread and thought I would give it a try. I called AT&T and got them to give me the subsidy code for free, then I used chuck-genius' method to unlock it. It worked first time. I'm working on releasing another MP for the V3xxR soon and now it can be an unlocked MP. That makes me happy.

good info, just wanting to know if you had any of the issues like not being able to put the code in when it askes for the subsidy code at start up or having a frozen phone.

It does not work on this phone. Software entered the unlock code but the phone stills hang on the AT&T logo with a different sim-card even though the software says the code is accepted.

Actually, this software does work. Code I entered was wrong and that's the reason phone did not unlock. Enter correct code and it worked.

?!? I don't mean to burst your bubble but he was actually talking about the RAZR V8. I've never heard of, nor can I find with google, a "non-RAZR" V3xxR World Phone. Can you post a link to that phone please?

Do I need to call ATT to request the subsidy code? So As I can See have to pay. for the unlock process. Regards.

if you have an account with ATT you can call them and request the subsidy code. make up a story as to why you need to use the phone on another network, and they usually give the number without any problems
