Hey SEM,
I just wanted to say Thank you very much for trying to help me out. Evidently I may have a unique situation, so now it's moto's problem. I sent that beast of a phone out yesterday to Motorola, and we'll see what I get back. Anyway thanks a lot, you and this site provide a great service for the do-it-youselfer!

wish i were online a week ago!! i had a similar problem with my v3xxr once damn Hab error!! Anyway flash&backup3 worked for me. Having the original backup file helped im sure
Probably if Dave and his wife got their phones at the same time, they would have the exact s/w. backing up from hers and flashing to his may have worked. Anyhow, good work here gents..... get em next time.
on a personal note, the v3xxr is a pain in the hooha , but i found that normally it is rather easy to unbrick compared to the old v3.
