need help with battlefield 3

I've recently started playing battlefield 3.
But in the last part of the Uprising mission in campaign mode, I defend my troops with the mounted gun but after I get hit by an RPG I have to reach the extraction chopper but when I move close to it it shows me that I'm leaving the combat area and to return back.
What am I doing wrong?

i dont really think ill be playing BF3 any time soon but i recomend you to check on youtube or just keep playing 'til you get sick of the game and then you can send it to me and i'll see if i can pass that level LOL!

I've played all levels of this game before many months. But I don't understand your question. This game has had so much hype surrounding it. It has delivered on all counts.
