Android OS Update

Samsung android OS update isn't available for my Phone, i am trying to update it since last week, but am not getting any update options.
I have read some reviews on the net that my Tablet is not made for any updates ever, in this case what should i do ? its been just 8 months ago that i have purchased this tablet and now what could be the resale value for it if i sell it ?
Samsung is purely limited with the smartphone devices and the tablets also.
I wanna buy a new smartphone. so can u guys suggest me of what could be the best option.
i want the best phone that will also get further updates if any officially released.

... What tablet? You mean the 1st gen Galaxy Tab? If so no it won't be getting any updates.
Resale value may not be alot due to it being outdated and didn't sell as well as others did.


The best phone for updates would be either the SGSII or Galaxy Note, Personally HTC, Motorola and LG are all lacking in the software department.
Reason I didn't suggest the Galaxy Nexus is that it does -not- have an SD slot which can annoy some people...

If you're not afraid to root you can get updates for your tablet though I believe Honeycomb has been ported and Ice Cream Sandwich is being ported.
