Motelona 158x
I have a Motelona 158x "Zack Morris" phone that is a great conversation piece, no pun intended. The thing is a Motorola underneath with an old Motorola interface, like that of a T720.
Has anyone had any experience with this phone? I want to mod it but it has no data connection, at least not on the surface.

So, I popped her cherry and yes, she has a miniUSB jack and yes, xxalexisrulesxx, it is a V180. Besides finding that I found the antenna wire had come unsoldered from the radio board.
Now I just gotta read up on modding a V180.

Well, she's now a Cingular branded "Zack Morris Edition" Motorola V220 with a properly soldered antenna connection and a nasty case of RFI since the antenna wire runs right next to the speaker wire. Gotta try some foil wrapping now.

Thanks for the instructions... I'll attempt to pop my 158x's cherry when it arrives. Would a standard miniUSB cable work? I already have a copy of Motorola Phone Tools.
Also, how did you do the V220 conversion? Modding or replacement? I would really love to enable the 850MHz band. Would you kindly show me where to look?
Thanks very much!

A standard miniUSB cable will work.
You'll need a copy of RSDLite (Google it) to flash the phone. Open it and and get it connected. Since you already have MPT the drivers should be there and install automatically.
I flashed this MP (follow the instructions to keep it unlocked). From there you can flash other R365 MPs from the bottom of this page if you want to get rid of the Cingular stuff.
Thanks to milkbone98 for the MP and instructions!
