(Guide) Install Games with Motorola Phone Tools

This is the method i use to install games and apps.

I have test it on the following fones:
    moto razr v3x
    moto razr v6 maxx
(may also work on others too).

Also, i always put the files onto the memory card, that way i can
install/uninstall them as i need them. or just delete the install files
via the fone's menu's when i dont need the app/game anymore).

    -------------------------------------

Both of these fones should have come with a data cable and
a copy of moto fone tools.

If you have you fone working in moto fone tools.
    Its this simple.

Get the jar & jad files for the games/apps you wanna install. (use jad maker if you need a jad).

    Ok,
    1) Connect ya fone to the usb cable and run moto fone tools.
    2) Click 'Multimedia Studio'
    3) In the next window, click 'File Transfer Studio'.
    3) On the right window where it says 'Mobile Phone', go into the folder called 'MMC(Removable)'.

In here, create a new folder, call it something like 'games1' or something like that. (keep the name short, like no more than 7 or so characters (letters & numbers only is best, and no spaces).

It should have automatically gone into the new folder when you created it. If not, go into the folder yourself.
    4) On the left window where it says 'My Computer', navigate to where you put the games/apps you wish to install.
[IMG[][/IMG] Now select the jar & jad files (one of each for each app/game). Then right click on one of the selected files, and click copy to mobile phone. (or click the 'Copy to mobile phone icon in the middle).

    5) when it finishes, exit 'File Transfer Studio', then exit 'Moto Phone Tools'.
disconnect ya fone, switch it off, then back on.
    6) Now go into you games section on the fone, scroll down to 'Install New', and select it. You should now have a list of all the games/apps you just put in the mem card. Select any of them to install that program.

    And thats it,
I have about 20 games installed on my fone, with around another 80 or so sitting there waiting to be installed as i need them.
Anytime i want a different game, i just delete one that i'm bored with from my games list (not realy necessary if you haven't reached ya max java apps limit yet). Then go into 'Install New', and put a different one on, etc.

To install more apps/games, repeat stept 1-6.

    PRO'S:
    Fast to install.
Even a noob can do it.
Can be done with the normal drivers installed that came with ya fone, or the p2k drivers installed.
This method mean's you can install/uninstall the games/apps as you need them once they're copied on the mem card, without the use of a computer each time.
The games and install files can be deleted via the fone as you require more space on your mem card.

    CON'S:
The only known limitations to this method, is there is a maximum file name length. So some games/apps with longer file names, will need have the .jar file renamed to something shorter, an have a fresh .jad file. But other than that, its good this way. As the fone moves the files to the correct spot for you when you restart it.

And you can send the games install files to you friends over bluetooth
so they can enjoy 'em too.

    Enjoy!!

im not sure, try making a folder called 'games 1' in the same section but not MMC, just phone memory, worth a try.

On L6 it won't work... Because L6 doesn't have java installer... So even if you have jar and jad files in the folder, you can't install them...
It's because list of games is in the J2MEST file, so if the jar file isnt registered there it wont show up in Games and apps folder... Maybe author of motomidman plugin in MV can add an install option, so L6 users with R3511 firmaware can install jar files on their motos directly form phone memory...

I tried this with my V3M. Moto phone tools would not let me access my mem card so I used a card reader. I got the files loaded on it but I dont know how to install them. I am using Sprint. Does that make a difference. I went to "Get New" in the games but it takes me to a website everytime. Any suggestions?
