Adding ringtones to Moto W510

Q1)how can i put music as a ringtone on my phone?

Q2)I download some ringtones from various sites...and when i put them in the phone (both the memory card &/or phone memory) the option of "apply as a ringtone" doesnt show up. So the only ringontes that i can "apply as a ringtone" are the tones that came with the phone.
So is there a way of doing this.
Ive already tried using the motorola phone tools.
