E2 battery life problem

My newish E2's battery life is terrible.
I have tried different reflashes and have come back to
Blackstorm. In properties my phone indicates that the
flex version is XronosScottish. I flashed it with the the xcronos_scottish.hs file to enable EDGE. This has something to do with it's dismal battery life. about 3 years ago when I had my first E2 I did it this way and got rid if it somehow. (I cant remember how) and enabled EDGE using Radiocomm which is the right way and the battery was a lot better after that.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as a tutorial goes for this.

Right now I am ready top chuck this phone in the bin.

There are many ways. Use the combination you want:
-Go to Menu> Settings > Network > Search Setup and in Speed choose Slow.
-Lower a bit the brightness of your screen.
-Reduce the time of your screen and/or keyboard´s light.
-If you're going to play much with games, you can deactivate the keyboard lights.
-You have one UnderClocking (lower the speed of your processor). For example, try 104/208/312 Mhz.

OK I will try those things. Does the Xcronnos_scottish.hs EDGE enabler not affect battery life? I got a BT 51 battery for the phone but it does not fit because these clowns where I got it supplied me with a used battery. It's swollen so the battery door bulges slightly. A new BT 51 will fit perfectly. Just need to find one.

Did those few power saving tips, no go. phone is on 1 battery bar. I took it off charge this morning and I have made 2 calls and sent 4 sms's. Looks like it will only make 8 hours as usual. I give up

Well, the battery of the e2 sucks! it is a reality. But we have to know how to take care of it.
Two tips more:
-It is NOT recommended to use your phone or play games while charging the battery
-It is recommended to drain battery completely at least once a week and then charge it fully, to extend battery life. And not to charge it every time the battery signal loses one bar. Because of that, it is better to connect the Sd card using a memory card reader usb, instead of connecting the phone.

If you notice that the battery is swollen, then it means you have to replace it for a new one

The BT 51 I got off Ebay. It arrived and I saw it was swollen and the terminals are marked. So it was obvious that the battery was used. So I put the battery in mt phone to see if it will fit. It will if its nor swollen. The BT51 is 940mah VS the BT 50 which is 850mah. So it might make some difference.

2 more problems is that the phone loses time/date if the battery is removed (which it never used to) and the usb connection is dodgy. Right now it just wont connect to my pc.
