Modding with Mac
Hello, it's me again. Thanks for all the responses to my previous questions, I'm so glad I found this forum!
New question: I'm trying to add the iPhone skin (of course) to my v3xx but the tutorial is made for windows, are there comparable programs, that run on mac, that will allow me to change the skins and lights?

I found Moto4lin in the DL section. I am trying this now, but any help would still be useful as I cant find any tutorials for it.Last edited by qlock; 04-23-2007 at 11:37 AM. Reason: new info

What are the programs in the DL section under Mac for? Does the Moto4lin not work with my phone or does it just not handle skins?

E is for Ezra and C is for Charley

Assuming Moto4Lin will work for you (always a question), and will work with your phone (also a question), download the skin file and open on the desktop. Keep the dat files and the ski files, and lose the rest (trash or...?). If there is a wallpaper, put it aside for now. Plug in your phone via usb cable, and then start Moto4Lin. If/when you finally get it to recognize your phone, you will see a listing on the left side of its window with your files listed. Click on the icon, click on the triangle and open up the "a" file. Scroll down to "Skins" and highlight it. You will see a small box saying path on lower left with the words ".../skin..." Write in the exact words as written on the ski file (minus the ski) such as iPhone exactly as written after the last "/". Add a "/" after it. Click "Create." When it tells you the file has been created (bottom window), click the "Upload" button and navigate to the file on the desktop. Highlight it all and then click the go button. Watch progress in lower window. When all files complete, hit the "Reboot " button at the top. Hit the "Disconnect" button. Unplug the phone from the usb cord and wait for it to finish rebooting. Go to Personalize/Skin and select your new skin. Done. To add wallpaper, I use bluetooth to transfer it over. You can use Moto4Lin to do so also, but I haven't, so maybe someone else can help or just use it by selecting the proper area in you phone and upload it yourself via trial and error. Not sure your phone will work with this, Digitol is the man for that, but if it will, this is how it is done. Oh, did I mention that Moto4Line is temperamental? It is. Be prepared to fight with it (do a search here for methods).

Thanks for the help. I fought with Moto4lin all day today, I have finally given up and decided to sell my v3xx if possible. I really wanted the Rizr anyway. Lol. So if anyones looking for one cheap let me know, it's brand new just got it today.

Yeah, but I was gonna keep this phone if it was easy to mod, but since it's not (on my mac), i'd rather getting the phone that I want instead of just settling. Ya know?!

Makes sense, sure. Just didn't want you to think modding the Rizr would be any easier on Mac, and be disappointed when you got it!
