Replaced new keypad - no display :(

    Hi,

I've replaced the OEM keypad with this one from cnn.cn

Motorola RAZR V3i OEM keypad flex cable

and the problem I have now with the v3r is the display won't work.

If I change to the old keypad flex cable it works - so I would think that this keypad is faulty or possibly the incorrect one.

With the connector to the upper part of the phone unplugged, the OEM keypad lights up properly. If I connect this connector, it causes the keypad to light up really dimly (can barely make it out in dark room) and nothing else happens.

Could it be that I have the wrong keypad flex for the v3r? I am pretty sure the V3i and V3r keypads are the same.

(I'm replacing the keypad because it is making a weird click-static like noise when the keypad lights are on - was hoping to revive the old phone!)

Could I have missed something obvious here? I'm a bit stumped with this problem...

Hey men V3r and V3i keyboards are not compatible are different series, if you want change you can use one for V3 or better ask for V3r one, in my experience the V3 R374 and V3r R4515 use the same, the V3i iTunes and No-iTunes use the same keyboard, V3re is different from the previous two...

MB300 a.k.a Backflip dead if you know how to unbrick it please PM me

    Hi,

I'm aware of the buzzing sound but this is making a loud clicking noise when left alone coming from the keypad when the lights are on.

I can't seem to find an OEM v3r one - this is for the R4515 - and on eBay lots of people listed the V3r and V3i as the same, hence my purchase from cnn.cn

Is there a better option on cnn.cn that I can purchase to make this work and replace the keypad flex?

the very first v3r was called v3i, but they are a rare find today. cnn.cn doesnt have pars for the v3r. just google for cell phone parts. there are a few online stores. i think there was one called the cell phone shop that was pretty good.
