Custom Ringtones

i apologize in advance for being a complete noob, as i just got my razr. i have a razr v3re. i would just like to get some custom ring tones on my phone. i have a usb cable to connect my razr to my laptop. i tried to get it to work with mobile phonetools, to no avail. i also wasn't brave enough to use any other apps (that seemed to involve flashing) because it seems the v3re is somewhat new. i guess the short version of my question is if i can get custom ringtones on the v3re with just the usb cable. thanks in advance for any help.

First off, have you installed the drivers neccessary for you computer to reconize you phone? If not then check this:

After getting connected use P2KCommander 4.9. It allows you to view the file structure on your phone and from their you can manipulate it:

Navigate to the audio folder and drop your custom tones in there. You will need to delete the two .db files when done adding or deleting tones, then restart your phone.

BTW...backup your phone by following the guides for your specific phone model in the V3R section. This phones still very new and things are still being worked out for it.

i was able to transfer an mp3, but it would seem to only transfer like 1 second (9 kB).

Does Mobile Phone Tools recognize the V3re?

that would be the easiest way to transfer audio to the phone and not a chance of bricking with MPT either, it is n00b proof.

or like 98 said m explore has worked for others with the same issue personally my laptop has bluetooth so i just transfer ota and it never fails lol
