Drivers don't seem to work for me
I have got a Motorola w156. For some reason the drivers don't seem to be working for me. I have tried installing the hardware automatically(I get the message can not install hardware ) and when i try to install specific drivers all the *.inf files from the zip file are said not to have information about the hardware. If you could give some advice on how i can tackle this problem i would appreciate it. Im running window xp pro sp2

Hello, I own a Motorola W156 and on my computer there is Win2k installed. I wish to use the phone as a modem and i am seeking for proper driver.

Now, the phone itself isn't locked on a specific network operator at all. I have no problem with respect to this and thus i don't want to unlock anything. but, rather, i simply would like to use my phone via USB as a modem to connect to the net, or at least access internal memory. (that means: no LOCOSTO driver!! phone switched ON!)
Now there are plenty of drivers lurking around on the internet. W156, W160, W175 ... i found hundreds of links ...
And I checked some ... Motorola Driver package 3.9.0 seems very big, >1 MegByte in size , very encyclopedic but pretty useless ... on the other hand the PHILOG driver. The whole package just 33 KB of size. I changed / adapted USB vendor and product id's in this. It installs each time i plug the phone automagically
... Few information is available on that. I tested some generic motorola usb drivers, but with no good results, because phone seems to emulate serial connector over USB and settings dont match.
The phone itself installs as an USB device with 3 pipes. Thus i think, the "official" documentation on the W156/160 which says "USB is for charging only" simply doesn't hold true.
Any suggestions?
where to get the "real" driver for W156 or W160?
how to install the above mentioned philog driver properly?
please can anyone help?
