left soft key stuck

Bought the phone as a refurbed by motorolla (as opposed to joe shoe off the street) off ebay. Had it for 5 months now, rarely used it. It would seem that the top left soft key gets stuck all the time. Really not helpful since camera is the default "option" when you press that key on the main screen. So it can take me 5 mins of trying to flip a/o pressing the other soft key, or backspace(delete?). Other times it is fine for a few mins or instead of the button fully being pressed, it highlights the "function" on screen but freezes there until the phone is closed.

Anyway, since this button seems to be touch activated, I was wondering if there is anyway to hack the phone to make it so I actually have to press down on this particular button.

Tempted to physically take the phone apart, but may or may not be able to put it back together again

there does not seem to be much support for this phone. my best advice would be to carefully disassemble the phone
and clean any debris causing the button to stick. or maybe you can change the button option in settings
i know on p2k phones buttons can be re-assigned or disabled using a program called p2k menu editor

Tired the p2k menu editor. Changed the left soft key to n/a, save to phone, restart. Same thing as change to be cancel button. Still seems to still be acting the same way as before. Guess taking apart my phone is the only option
