I was just thinking. Would it be possible to have dual functionality of the outer keys?
Take the volume keys for example.

When you're listening to music, it acts as volume adjustment. But when you're viewing a menu, they act as sort of navigation keys (up and down).

So i'm thinking, could we keep the touch keys' function while listening to music (back/rewind, play/pause & forward); and while we're not listening, could we use the play/pause as the center key or smart key...?

Just a thought.

Would remapping be adequate for the job, or do we have to go down to the programming logic of it?

i dont think it is possible-it must be at the programming level
from my experience with remapping- i guess that the phone interprets from the seem-which key is assigned to which function- but the function itself isnt modable through the seem.
in other words-the phone has a stock of known functions and the seem just tells it which of the functions he know he needs to assign to a given key

How do you get messages to come thru as "Quickview" messages?

nothing. it just came like this. after that i sent two messages from my dads mob but the message animation came again. i think it works randomly. i don't believe in ghosts.

that what you've received is flash message. some nokia phones have that option and there is symbian aplication for sending flash sms called smsOne.
msg is shown on your screen at the moment you receive it...
