The V6e (for Verizon) is the only thing that shows up now, when you go to the Motorola web site and ask for a Maxx V6 on their search area. I also, would not mind losing the second camera, but gaining the other features, such as flash, and larger outside screen. I am still waiting for the Cingular 3G (quad band?) version, and here in the Pensacola, FL area, a Radio Shack person and a Cingular store person, said they have heard that Cingular is definitely going to carry their version, but may be waiting for the ATT merger to be finished. I don't know what that would have to do with it. I think the announced June release of the iphone (which I understand is not a 3G phone), and how the MAXX would affect its sales, is what could dictate when & if it is released. Another factor could be, that Cingular might be waiting until more of their coverage area is upgraded to 3G. Maybe I should just splurge on my upcoming birthday, and e-mail order, one of those $524 Ferrari Challenge phones from their Las Vegas store!

I don't know that the Maxx is gonna really be an iPhone killer, the iPhone has SO many unique features, its incredible.

The ATT/Cigular merger wait is a valid point, though, because if they release a big phone, they want it to work perfectly, and the ATT towers need to be outfitted to work correctly with Cingular's data network, etc. So yes, they could be waiting for that.

no. this won't happen unless either A) the 850 band exists on the current model or the 850-enabled Maxx is announced

I saw specs of the Maxx Ve. They call the Ve the "cousin" to the V6. The only major differece between the two phones that I see is that there is no VGA camera for video confrencing and the feature added to0 make it a "verizon only" phone. I have the V6 and I love it to death.

1) They can make a phone that gets me dressed in the morning and replaced everything that I use (TV, Radio, Ipod, Computer, etc.) but then its no longer a phone... It's something else that had phone features... the Maxx may not be an Iphone killer but as long as I still have mods I haven't learned yet, and as long as I haven't bricked my Maxx... I be fine right here supporting this forum with info, help and questions.

2) They can give every living thing in the world a Maxx under any network, my Maxx is unique and my Maxx reflects me as an individual... They can make a Super Maxx, Giga Maxx, Hecta Maxx, Iphone, Phone Pants or w/e... It took too much to get my Maxx and no one on this island really has it yet... so I'm fine for now... (and if I brick my phone, it'll hurt but I'll just end up getting another one... all my hacks are documented)
