[Guide] Backup your Bootloader

hi there, bit of a newbie at this and was wondering if i could get a little advice.

I have the following phone : RAZR V6 with R26111VL-AS_U_96.66.76AR USVOLNSTELSAUR26111002 B/L 3.02

I was trying to make a bootloader backup as discribed in this thread.

I added the profiles into FB3 as advised by russoeternal in a guide somewhere but could not select them. Kept coming up with the " file not found " error .

Carrying on i had a look at the difference in the sectors they are backing up

CG1 CG2 CG3 CG4 CG7 CG15 CG17 CG18 are the same for both.

not sure if this is a problem with the profiles i have introduced or whether i should just just delete the " ; ' and change the address as discribed in the tread or to change the address tho be backed up in the working profile to reflext the ones in the VL-AS profile and if so what is what would it be.

Not sure if im getting to much info from to many places and stuffing things up.

Dartagnan, before we get confused, here's a tip:

-Make sure you have the latest F&B version. Should be F&B 3.0.7 (from what you showed here, these profiles are wrong, at least for V6. BOOT start address is not 10000000; it is A0000000 - for 26111VL_U. Plus some other stuff missing, like the CG0len: D0 )
-Please upload your .prof files so we can check them. (only the necessary V6 MAXX profiles, plus the one you edited)
-Send us your profiles.dat file. You can find it by going C:\Program files\Motorola tools\F&B 3.0.7\Languages

Meanwhile, go once again through the steps given by Russo, and we'll figure out something!

i got the profiles from the link there.


going to reloading F&B 3.0.7 to starting again.

I have 26111VL-AS_U so thought i should use this profile.
going to use the one in F&B and hope this will be the same

If you use the profile attached to F&B3 will be ok! If you used the VL-AS profile and it worked, so, congratulations! glad it worked for you!

It didnt work profiles attached - that was the problem i was tring to sort out - was it something i was doing or the profiles were wrong

The start addresses are wrong.

These are the files I am using. You can try them (for R26111VL and R26111LD ONLY)

Have a look at the edited strings.
