Restart your computer and/or change the usb port on your pc. Also uninstall and re-install drivers. Does your computer make the "device connected" sound when you connect your phone in bootloader?

Devices available:
HTC Hero|Recovery: ClockworkMod|Rom: Hero-Deck 2.3.7 by Bharat_goku Fastest and most stable (for me anyway) AOSP GB Rom
Sony Ericsson Xperia X8|Recovery: ClockworkMod|Rom: GingerDX V020
ZTE Race|Recovery: ClockworkMod|Rom: CyanogenMod 7
Samsung Galaxy S i9000| Recovery: ClockworkMod|Rom: OneCosmic's ICS Port RC3.1

download RSD lite and open it. This should kick the computer into recognising the phone
