    C975 bootloader downgrade

    Hi guys,
I have a C975 that I've been trying to unlock for the last day or so but the unlocking process always fails as shown.

    Connecting to phone ...
    Connected to: 'Motorola Test Interface'
    Switching to flash mode ...
    Connected to: 'Motorola Flash'
    Connected OK
    Bootloader version: 0612
    Write flashbootloader 0631 ...
    ERROR: FLASHCMD invalid command response
    ERROR: Send ERASE command

After hours of Googleing it seems that my probem may well be my bootloader which is version 0.6.1.2.Even though this bootloader is meant to unlock with P2k E.T. without the need to TP,it seems that this particular bootloader can be a pain and refuse to unlock. The solution seems to be to downgrade the bootloader to version 5.F.1.
I have managed to track down this bootloader but the file extension type is "smf" which I have never seen before and don't quite know what to do with so if any of you guys could point me in the right direction I would be most gratefull.

    Many thanks,Woody.

Something wrong here, http://www.fileinfo.net/extension/smf I never seen .smf in modding either, but that doesn't mean much. smg would be a flash file for FB3 though.

Please do not kiss, or lick, the Monitor.

The file that I found and downloaded is C975_boot_5.1.f.smf.Vista seems to recognise the file type as it shows it as "smf file",but like you I've never seen this before.Unfortunately my old pc expired and the new one is running Vista and lot's of my modding software won't run otherwise I could use "quick unlock" mode of Motorola Repair Studio which will display the subsidy code.If all else fails I might install XP on a seperate partition on the new hard drive but in the mean time any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,Woody.
