If someone has done this, PLEASE reply! I have an ATT v3xx that I'd like to use with pay-as-you-go TracPhone SIM and am having no luck unlocking the thing.

Yes, I called AT&T and told them that I am going to India & would like to use my phone & contacts stored on phone (not sim). Play dumb & dont say, "Please unlock my phone". Just say u wud like to be able to use the phone in India (or any other country) and what wud it take to do that. AT&T will put u on hold for abt 20 min (some people get frustated with the hold time & hang up. When they put u on hold, just put it on speaker and browse M3 or whatever. Rep will come on after after 20 min, either give u the unlock code & tell u how to put it or unlock the phone & tell u that ur phone is unlocked. I have done this for 3 different phones over past 3 years. Works everytime. I even asked AT&T after they unlocked the phone if I can check the phone by putting in my friend's T-mo sim. Works like a charm.

This is the best & sure shot way to unlock ur phone for free.
