    V3xx keypad problem

Hello all. I have an ATT V3xx that I want to unbrand then unblock but the keypad seems to not be functional. I can turn the phone on and off, connect to the puter, but..... Can't get it into bootloader or even enter anyything using the keypad. The EL part of the keypad seems to be lighting up fine but..that's about it. The phone seems to boot just fine and everything seems to work. Don't have the origional sim card because they decided to get a different phone so. The only sim I have is mine. Going to need to unblock it to use it. Any ideas as to why the keypad would not be working?. Thanks.

was the phone purchased used? he so look for signs me water damage or impact damage. to see he a phone has water damage pull out the battery and you will see either a plain white box, a grew box with black four or even a white box with red dots. he you phone has the second or third type make sure that the dots are sharp and that they an not bleed. the signs me impact damage are a little more obvious chips, dents heavy scratching. those are a few signs me impact damage. there arm other things that would cause the key sad not to work but we should start with the obvious

Well.. Dot's are red..sharp. Not all bled out. The phone still works fine but just no keypad. No dents. It is used. See's signal just fine and even can recieve a call though u can't answer it. so...must be a bad keypad. Is there a way to hard reset the phone without the keypad working?

Yep, have the same problem with several flip V*** types, just stop working except for the on/off button, not wet or damaged. I am surprised that a solution to the problem has not been found.

You may want to check the following thread:

    http://modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203481

My final solution was to take the upper LCD screen part of the housing apart and blow out around the side buttons, but I tried a lot of other tricks before I fixed my keypad. You will need a T4 driver and a small plastic card or prybar (and good finger nails) to open the case. Just blowing around the keys with compressed air did not help. I had to open the case up, let the prssure off the side keys and and bow the dirt out with compressed air. I then wiped out everything with alcohol on a Qtip just to make sure everything was clean.

    Hope this helps.
