(noob) V3xx installed new skin, now outer displays goes black when recieving messages

i have a V3xx and ive used Skiman to install several new skins and my favorite one, Perfection Gold (which i got here from modmymoto.com), is giving me some problems. when the phone is closed, my wallpaper shows but with no time or date or any icons. then, when i recieve a message, the funlights that i enabled start flashing, but the display goes black. how would i fix this and what would i use? (laymans terms preferred)

well i pretty much solved the problem by installing a monster pack. it just came with everything. we should make more of those.....

Well yes but then u are using somebody else's phone settings. It not YOUR phone, its not YOUR style, its not YOUR font, its not YOUR custom phone. You just happen to like it.

I was having the same problem, but I was able to use the skinner4moto cli version to make a custom outside skin .. I then had to save that as <skinname>_cli.dat and <skinname>_cli.ski and using p2kcommander I had to put those 2 files in my skin folder and that worked like a charm .. I'm guessing I could do that for all the custom skins if they don't have the _cli files .. just rename and reuse those each time ..

i know its not MY custom stuff, i've never claimed it as my own. someone else has it there for everyone to download and enjoy and im free to do so. im new at this whole thing and i posted this thread in hopes of finding answers, not criticism. Just please keep it to yourself if its not necessary. thanks.

This file was posted in the V3xxR forum, however they will work fine with the V3xx; just be sure to rename the files with the skin name b4 putting them in the skin folder on your phone. Also, I find using P2KTools VS (3.0.8 build 864) is much quicker and hassle free than Skinman especially if you're not gonna be doing any mods or customizing to the skins!
Of course I've had alot of time to get used to P2KTools and F&B3 seeing as how I've only my phone about , ummm, 8 times in the couple months I've had it... But the last time I had it fully restored with skins, mods and outlook sync in less than two hours....

I was just trying to help YOU customize YOUR phone by giving you a link that would have solved your problem. But instead of saying Thanks, you are blaming me of criticising you.

This site is all about learning. Ofcourse you can always download files, MPs. Not trying to criticize anyone here. As you can see I'm just "Of Mice & Modders", no Super modder or nothing like that. Still learning. Thanks to M3.

By the way, the "External LCD Skin Files.zip" was also posted by me to help others with this same outer skin problem.

Hihi. Having a bit of a problem with the V3xx skins, Using SkiMan, they go in just fine, however when I use the skins, the outer display on the back of the phone is completely blank, (as in no clock, signal bars, nothing. just black). What do I need to set in SkiMan to fix this? Or do I need to reflash it first?
