V3xx wont charge and starts up in bootloader mode

Oh wise ones of the forum,

My Wifes V3xx took a dump on her a week ago. The thing started up in bootloader mode displaying the following:

Bootloader

Battery OK
OK to program
connect USB
data cable

After reading some of the posts here I thought I could get the thing to run again by flashing the thing back to life and/or reloading the
r26111.... software. However after she got back from her trip ( this kind of thing only happens when you are out of town) the screen line that states "battery OK" now says "Battery low cannot program". After reading about bricking the phone if a flash is attempted with a low battery I thought I'd recharge the phone before digging in. After Charging for 24 hours with the home charger, 12 hours with the car charger, and 3 hours with the usb cable it still shows "low battery" I can only guess that the thing is so ganked up internally that it won't even accept a charge. So I go out and buy a new battery hoping that'll get me through the reprogramming task. After downloading and installing 32 bit P2K and the R26111 MLD monster pack I am still having problems. The program didn't seem to do anything to the phone. Still cannot charge and only starts up on bootloader mode.

Questions are as follows:
1. Are these the correct programs that I should have downloaded?
2. Are there any secrets to getting your computer to talk to your phone when using P2K?
3. Should the phones Bootloader screen show anything happening when you are running P2K? Mine just sat there like a bump on a log.

Any help would be appreciated.

what you have to do is get a fully charged battery, and start it in Bootloader mode, then flash a monster pack to it. its easy .

I've heard that it is "easy" so I've been giving it a try however I keep hitting a birck wall. I did buy a new and charged battery. I downloaded P2K and the monsterpack

I got my computer to recoginze the phone but when I try to flash the MP, P2K asks for a file with a perticular extension (sorry I'm on the road and can't recall the file extension(s) that P2K asks for) but the MP has a different file extension. I'm 99.9% sure I have the correct MP based on the version # but don't know how to get P2K to recognize it.

I'm the kind of guy that likes to fix things myself but I did end up calling Motorola. They told me that my phone is still under warranty so I guess I'll just send it in to them and have them fix it for me. I'd really like to know how to fix this on my own though, so if it happens again I can handle it without a costly repair bill. If anybody can point me to a tutorial with "detailed" instructions on how to flash a phone I'd be much obliged. I need instructions that tell you every setp not just a crib note version saying" get P2K and a MP. Now use it....." Know what I mean???

Ok, FIRST download this: Flash&Backup 3.0.6 if you dont have it, then unRar the MonsterPack. open Flash and backup and connect your phone, then change the Active profile to:

and connect your V3xx in Bootloader mode. then click this:

and go to where you have the Monster pack (SHOULD BE A .shx FILE OR A .sbf FILE!!)
and just click the "Write Data" button. then wait for it to finish.

Thanks. when I get home I'll give this a try. Yah, my problem I guess was/is the MP I want to use is a .rar file and I can't seem to unzip it to use it. Will try the flash and backup program you have directed me to and see if I can make some more headway. thanks again.

Use winRAR to unzip it, flash file format should be either .sbf or .shx extension.

OK, I am home now and tried what you suggested jdyates and I can say that I have met with success!!. I already had F&B 3.0.6 downloaded as well as the MP but my problem I now see was unraring the MP. I see now that winzip couldn't recognize it and I needed winRAR to unrar it. Thanks also to Kent_lkc for the winrar tip. The pnone once again works!!!!!!!! I am recharging my original battery now and I am not 100% sure if it will take a charge however my replacement battery seems to charge just fine so I'm crossing my fingers the original battery will take a charge as well. If not, a new battery is an easy fix.

Last update: The original battery was kaput. I tried to charge it all night and the only thing the phone would do is flash the charge light at me. The new battery works just fine though.
