Is it possible to Unlock 2100MHz 3G?
Hello, I'm in New Zealand and am looking to buy a new V3xx from China.(Links below) The only thing stopping me is that naativly the phone does not support the right frequency for VIDEO CALLING on Vodafone in NZ. (3G UMTS 2100MHz) [Below is the full list of freqencies Vodafone NZ uses]
After much reading all over the inter-webs I ended up more puzzled than when I started, so it has come to the stage where I need to ask the question I need the answer too.
Is it possible to mod the V3xx from China to work on the right band for VIDEO CALLING in NZ?
Moderator Edit : links removed.
Vodafone's mobile network operates on the following frequencies:
A 2G GSM voice network on 900/1800MHz (almost every GSM mobile should work on these frequencies)
A 2G GPRS data network on 900/1800MHz
A 3G UMTS data network for voice, video calls and data on 2100MHz
A 3G HSDPA network on 2100MHz
Many thanks,
Kiwiqt

I removed the links. You should buy a V3XX with front facing camera. That revision of V3XX is called International and equips 2100mhz band.

Thank you for the reply
Thank you for the reply, I had my doubts if anyone would reply

Are you talking about the V3x? Because I do not like that model, it is too bulky for my needs.
I am trying to find out if the V3xx (HSDPA 850 / 1900) can be unlocked to support the 2100mhz band.
There is a little bit of talk about unlocking all bands ect.. but no conclusive answer.
Cheers,
Kiwiqt

We aren't dead. You'll always get a reply here.
The unlocking of bands on v3xx only applies to 850mhz GSM. It is not related to 2100mhz or something else. I think you should ask the sellers if their v3xx variant has the front facing camera. That variant was designed to work on 2100mhz european networks with video calling.
