v3xx
I recently purchased a v3xx at a flea market and I'm impressed with just how good these things are but there are a couple of questions and some of you may know the answeres.
The v3xx is not activated with any carrier but it's photography, voice recording, scheduling, it's utilities under "my stuff" and the like are of value here, as is the 911 feature - you never know.
I''ve dl what I believe is the latest OS from Motorola
I've dl the owners manual and pretty much know how to use the v3xx
I've purchased a mini-usb cable as well and it works
I've purchased a recharge unit which works.
I''ve purchased a 4gb card and installed it but the unit will not recognize the new 4gb card. How do I get it to do that?
Before installing that software dl from Motorola, is there anything I should know?
I use linix for the most part and to a far, far lesser extent M$. In both cases, when using the USB cable, the v3xx is recognized but that's it.
At present I can not dl the test photos I''ve taken with the v3xx. Once the new 4gb card is recognized I expect that I will be able to transfer the photos to my computer.
Any ideas or suggestions?

If I remember correctly, the V3xx can only recognize up to 2GB SD cards, but I'm not sure since i think i remember using an 8GB once. Try formatting the SD card using your computer, then plugging it into the phone.

Thanks for getting back ... it's appreciatred.
About that 2gb limit you mentioned, somehow that sounds familiar, must have read that on the WWW somewhere while researching the V3xx but the d/l of the owners manual says 4gb.

About that 2gb limit ...
That 2gb sim I purchased came with an adapter and after installing the sim in the adapter and installing the adapter into my laptop, the sim shows up so I know its working - yet it won't show up at all when inserted into the v3xx. The question is how do I get that 2gb sim to show up on the v3xx

If you followed all the UM instructions, it may be the SD card slot in the phone is bad.The question is how do I get that 2gb sim to show up on the v3xx
Probably not, seems Motorola designed their P2K support apps only for Windows (Maybe Mac too). There are at least 5 different drivers in the Moto driver download for Windows, you would need their Linux equivalents to see your phone properly. Maybe Mac drivers (if there are any) would work for Linux, idk.Anyone here using these v3xx phones with Linux?
Might find some ideas here - Motorola "Phone Tools" Substitute -- Cellphone useHic sunt dracones...
