No, unfortunately telnet doesn't work on this phone unless the feature's activated in the firmware settings. Many (most people) haven't been able to telnet into the Z6

telnetting on linux
Hey is it possible to telnet into motorokr z6 from linux...i can telnet from windows...has anyone succeeded on linux?

yes... i dont remember the post but if you look on the z6's section in the spanish forum you will find someone that did telnet on a linuxbox

i have telneted.
its easy, but you have to reflash it first
i uses the power of linux one.
after you isntallit correctly, there is a new option called "usb lan"
choose that, and plug the fone to the pc, and as root do "ifconfig -a"
you should see a new interface called usb0
do "ifconfig usb0 up 192.168.16.1" as root and you are good to go
telnet 192.168.16.2
