i recently had to reinstall ubuntu 8.10 on my machine, the main hard drive accidentally got formatted... and now things aren't quite working how they were.
when i plug my SLVR L71 into my machine, it no longer reads the memory card. does anybody know how to fix this?
my second problem is an error message i get when i choose to open [rather than save] a .deb file. it reads "<filename> could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences."
any help would me very appreciated. i'm sort of new at linux, and very new to motomodding.
I dare say your problems have been solved. If you wanted to mount the memory card as a block device you need usb storage (usb-storage.ko). You need serial driver (cdc_acm.ko) loaded if you are using phone on usb cable.
On another note, Moto4lin continues to act up accessing p2k phones. As we migrate to KDE4 we need to be careful that old qt3 apps (like moto4lin) don't mess up our systems. I've found that copying an old libqt-mt.so.3 to /usr/lib allows Moto4lin to start without whining about missing qt3.
