Hi i haven't modded a motorola in ages and i think i used some windows software to flash a phone. It was a v3. I have a v9 now and i seem to remember that flashing the firmware also unlocks the phone because it takes it back to the factory state? I know all about the unlocking services so don't bother telling me about them. Had a bad experience with being given an online unlocking code that i paid for so don't wanna go down that road again. If i have to i will sell my phone locked as i don't want to use that carrier anymore or pay them to unlock it. They have crappy services and are the most expensive in australia :0( I have been searching through the forum and haven't seen anything on the v9 phone so would appreciate some advice because i don't remember much and i am not expert in linux yet .... Been using Ubuntu and a few other distros for about 3.5 years i think
I don't know if it works for those motorolas, but for the newer Android ones you can use the "sbf_flash" tool to flash sbf files on both linux and mac. But again, I don't know if it works for the older non android models as a RSDLite replacement.
