Hmm this is a tough one to decide on. Personally I have never used an E8 however I do have a V8 here.

I heard that the E8 is a great phone for music - definitely better than the V8.

As for speed, I think both of them are slow (at least the V8 is slow). The V8 can be overclocked from 133MHz to an amazing 532MHz together with the creation of a Swap file (virtual RAM on your memory card). This improves the performance a lot. Probably the E8 also can do this however I think it would be best to ask the guys in the E8 section or wait till someone who has an E8 replies here .

Feel free to ask, and don't hurry at making a decision as whatever you decide on, you will have to stick with it for months or even years .

well yeah.. you're right.and i heard somewhere that e8 is so compatible for kinda overclocking. maybe as much as V8 which U mentioned. but there's a risk and it's about the future. does the phone live long after overclocking or i should save some money over a new one.????
by the way thanks for your time buddy.

No. Because what we are calling overclocking is not really overclocking.

The CPU used in the phones are rated by the CPU manufacturer as 532MHz. However Motorola underclocks them to 133MHz or sets them to automatic variable. Depends on model. They do this, so that they can produce "newer" models from time to time, keep the same CPU (saves production costs), but increase the CPU power by software at each new model, claiming that the device now has a better CPU than its predecessor. It's all a marketing thing.

Anyway, so basically when we say we are overclocking our phones, we are in reality restoring the CPU to its original frequency rather than overclocking it.

Dunno if I managed to explain myself haha .

that was the best explanation buddy..
by the way that would be a real smart way to save some money in pocket and keepin' this cell 4 years. as you told i'm still thinking to make the best dicision though i think that i will buy this product. that would be a phone to be proud of using it.
    thanks 4 the help man.

E8 is capable of reaching also 532MHz also, and you can swap up to 1GB, with plenty of Emulators, and more native games to come, it's only matter of time for this to become one of the best modding devices from Moto

I think if I were you I'd go for the E8. My experience with the V8 wasn't the best one could have. It still works great today but it has 3 major defects: USB port got lose and does not always make contact (makes it difficult to charge the phone), touch sensors don't work well, the flip gets scratched easily. The phone itself works flawlessly though .

Dunno, maybe it's just me, keep in mind that I had also bought it second hand. However from what I read, if I had to choose again, I would definitely go for the E8 (has better sound too)

False. The processor is variably underclocked because the extra power is not needed at the moment so it saves battery life. We can only dismantle this variable underclocking because it is sometimes not very well done by fixing the processor speed to the maximal value.

Yeah that too. But I'm also sure that my reason counts as well. Probably a mixture of both

I've used both V8 and E8. Simply go for E8. Display, Battery life, Durability, Moddability, Speed is better than V8.

I know this is a "or" thread, but I'd get neither, particularly if you want a phone for the future. V8 is old and E8 just doesn't do it for me. It's big, bulky, laggy, and has a tiny screen.

My recommendation is wait for an Android Moto or choose the ZN5 if you're a Linux guy.

_.__.__._I have retired. If you PM me, I may not reply.
