CG8 - ?????
CG11 - ??????
CG12 - ??????
CG15 - DRM (Contains the indicator/status icons e.g. battery meter)
CG17 - ?????
CG18 - Digital Sign (?????)

What's the difference between the CG1 firmware and the DSP firmware in CG3?
Can you explain what Persistent Data Storage does?
Can the /e/ partition be removed so that the memory it currently occupies be used by the /a/ partition?

Skrilax, the CG0 is the RAMLDR ?
Anything you need please contact me thru Private Message.

CG0 (when splitting by SBF Recalc) is a header of CG1.
PDS is unique to each phone and stores things like subsidy lock etc.
/e/ is /e/ and cannot be merged with /a/.

BootLoader - The Phone's BootLoader for controlling the phone's actions, flashing etc. (Every model)
BootCore - The Phone MotherBoard BootLoader known as a BootCore, when you brick your phone, the Bootloader dies and you have to testpoint to open up the BootCore so you can flash your Backup, you put your BootLoader back into action (Every model)
RAMLDR - Puts the phone into RAMLDR Mode for flashing
JUMP - After sending the ramldr it jumps the phone to flashing.
CG0 - Memory Map this SHOULD Not be touched at any costs, if touched the result could be critically damaging (On Neptune Models , Argons , Paragons , Rainbows)
CG1 - Firmware (On Neptune Models , Argons , Paragons , Rainbows)
CG2 - Main FileSystem (On Neptune Models , Argons , Paragons , Rainbows)
CG3 - DSP FW - Audio Video Driver (On Neptune Models , Argons , Paragons , Rainbows)
CG4 - Language Pack (On Neptune Models , Argons , Paragons , Rainbows)
CG5 - (Argons)
CG6 - PDS (Argons)
PDS SECTOR (Neptunes Not sure about Paragons and Rainbows)
CG7 - Directs where the Bootloader looks, is used in RSA Removal for Neptunes, the RSA Removed Version of CG7 redirects the BootLoader to CG18 Dual Bootloader, bypassing RSA.
(Argons - possible, Neptunes)
CG8 - Boot Logo (Argons, does not EXSIST IN LTE1&2 Neptunes)
CG10 - /e/ partition (Argons)
CG11 - Digital Signature
CG12 - Unknown
CG15 - DRM, Battery Graphics, signal etc.
CG17 - Digital Signature
CG18 - Digital Signature (Argon) / DUAL BOOTLOADER (Neptune)
Hope that helps lolLast edited by ! .ĐΛЄMØИ. !; 11-17-2009 at 12:30 PM.

a) Here we talk about argons only
b) CG17 aint signature, neither is CG11. CG7 is not used on Argons.
c) JUMP is a command, not a codegroup.
d) CG6 (A0030000 - A004FFFF) is the PDS

Btw, V3re is an LTE2 phone, and it's bootscreen is in CG8.
Also, part of the question, I believe, was "What is DSP?" Well, it stands for Digital Signal Processing.

Any way to flash one (or more) of the code groups from a backup to overwrite unbranded data with my own (contacts, pictures, videos, recent call data, total call times, etc.)?
I made a backup, flashed a MP unbranded, flashed a MP modded, and now I'd like to recreate my settings, data, and contacts without having to do so manually. However, I will either do so manually or reflash to my backup if I must.

can i flash just cg2 on my phone running russotothemaxx3 with bl3.02? i wanna flash it with a branded h3g or vodafone just to use the branded softkey image. alternately, if any of you guys have these branded softkey, please do attachd them here and il just follow Russo's guide on how to make a branded softkey. and if anyone would be kind enough to design a custom russotothemaxx3 softkey image, that would be the greatest.
