Hi guys. I've been trying to suss my way 'round these forums, but can't seem to understand **** of it. Too techy for me, I guess...
Basicly, my situation is:
- I bought a V6 Maxx on ebay ('cause I used to have one, and still just love the design, and wanted another one, for a backup-phone).
- The one I bought is on Orange, and I'm norwegian (living in Denmark, but whatever...)
- Is it possible to install a new language-pack on the device? It's of no issue to me that the menus are english, but it would be really good if I could write text-messages with scandinavian letters.
- If it IS possible, what do I do?
Any help would be awesome, and please, keep in mind my n00bness
D-loaded Rsd lite, and hooked my phone up. It seemed to do some work, but nothing happened. Got a "fail" message.
I've concluded that my phone's got this Flash-version: R26111VL. From what I've managed to read, I'd go with getting it updated to R26117LD_U_98.20.33.BR but I don't know where to get it...
For language-pack, I'd go for Language Package 000B (UK English, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish). But don't know where to get that
Ah. Found the Russotothemax-thingy. Seems good. Will go with that, just that the d-load section of the forums is "closed for maintenance" and has been for quite a while. Is there any other way to get it?

@Saurus: Thanks bud. D-loaded the LP. The RussotothemaxX-file was not there. Tried googling it, but just sends me into a jungle of labyrinths ending up nowhere. Damn.
Is there no way I can just get a standard set up, with my preferred language pack?

You can use the full MP that rafalinda posted - R26111VL_U_96.A0.0DR_LP002C_JPRT_USVOLANSRTNRR2611 - Downloads - Droid Developers. Just open it in F&B3 and select only CG4 and write it to your phone. It will change your language selections to those of LP002C: UK English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, German, Russian. All Code Groups that are not checked will not be written, so everything else will remain the same. Be sure to make a full backup first.

First use Backup tab and back up all CG's (select all).
Then use Write tab and load the MP with the LP002C in it. Select only CG4 in that file and flash (write) CG4 to your phone.
If you're adventurous, you can flash CG2 to see what is on it. Research indicates it is for "Planet3" (3 network, I think). If you don't like it, reflash your backup CG2 for Orange.
Stay away from CG1, it will probably lock your phone to the other carrier.
Dead? No power? Battery fully charged? Anything on screen? That doesn't make sense, I've never heard of bricking a phone with only a LP flash, unless it was to the wrong phone model, maybe. Did FB3 detect the phone as V6 to start?
yup. Detected all right. Everything seemed to go smoothe. So I unplugged the phone and tried to start it up. All that happens when hitting the "on"button, is that the phone shakes, the lights on the keypad comes on, and after 1-2 seconds it just blanks out. Nothing on the screen, and the phone is totally dead. If I try to start it again, the same happens.
I don't know what to suggest, except to try to charge the battery. A low or bad battery could explain it. Use a wall charger, USB sometimes won't handle the load.
Writing CG4 from the same phone model is about the safest thing you can do with F&B3.
Hm. Bummer. Don't have a wall-charger for it. Only got usb and car-charger. The usb won't work, as the phone's not detected by MPT. Crap. Trying the car-charger.
